You cannot prove that "the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things" necessarily condemns a certain group of English words which we have somehow labeled as inherently evil. That is an interpretation of man. "Cursing" in the OT and also in parts of the NT meant literal cursing, which mainly was wrong as it was related to pagan rituals/religions. And the 1-5# (around 1:10) about someone who swears is totally untrue and a stereotype which has no backing! All of this is a massive misinterpretation.

I confess sometimes I fall into the 'Peter' realm verbally...It doesn't necessarily shock me tho, because we are all still human...By no means am I 'condoning' it, I'm simply stating fact and when I hear another bro. or sis. use a sware word, I do not judge!!! Here is where I fall short. I do have a sense of humor, I make comics, but my humor is not always clean, I do laugh at jokes that are disgusting at times, and although I don't use the popular curse words as I admitted in another video, but I do say mean things when people get on my nerves. I do need a daily cleaning in my heart.

Very true! I used to swear like a drunken Sailor, but when I read that I shouldn't do it, the Holy Spirit convicted me, and in a very short time I didn't want to say those words anymore. The Truth does set us free. God is faithful!

This is a serious problem on YT and reading some comments on other videos or watching some webcam vids you have to wonder if these people are born again.They so freely use foul langauge and cuss in comments. God is holy and we will be judged by every worthless idle word we speak.We should 'take heed' and clean up our language.

Proverbs 18:21 tells us that the power of death and life are in the tongue. We must remember that, though fallen and utterly depraved, we retain the image 0f God. Anointing is never taken back. God has the power to speak things into being. Though fallen, we retain the ability to speak things into being also- to a much lesser , depraved extent. Therefore, we must take care to speak those things that bless, rather than curse. Curses spring from a hateful and angry spirit. Let love rule the tongue.

This was a really good video! and I know what you are saying! There are so many people I meet that call themselves Christians and say they have a relationship with the Lord, but when they talk they use all kinds of profanity! And I try to tell them, do they really think God wants them to talk that way, but they think God made the words so why can't they use them... It soooo sad! My heart goes out to these people! but remember the verses in ephesians that talk about unwholesome talk aren't necessarily talking about swearing. A lot of Christians still let unwholesome talk come out of their mouth even if they're not swearing

Their logic is simply "I'm not swearing, so therefore, I dont let unwholesome talk come out of my mouth"

Im not saying swearing is right but its only wrong depending on the context which it is used in

Excellent video! 5 stars! We need to have self control in our speech. Profanity is not acceptable in a Christian's life. It shouldn't be. If it is, it needs to get cleaned up. Profanity makes a Christian look really bad. Clean speech should be a Chrsitian's priority! Awesome video! P.S.There's certain TV shows that should be off limits for Christian families!
