TOO Little TOO Late for me...My Parents Divorced when I was 3 years old and still that consistant Verbal abuse towards each other through me is going TOO FAR... I am 24 Years Old Now what they treat me as a little kid.
Not only that but they are still making me feel that their Divorce is my Fault....HELP ME....
if you cannot get help from the professionals you should probably help yourself if you cannot do that all hope is lost. Just don't think about it if it hurts.
honestly this is the worst idea for a game since "Columbine Shooter RPG" as a divorce child i can tell you that no game will make you feel better, plus the fact that someone would try to market off a childs emotions is disgusting. way to bring society to an all time low.
Since when is trying to help children - or anyone else for that matter - considered a bad thing? You make it sound like all doctors or psychologists market off people in need! Besides, many forms of play therapy already exist... It seems logical that the next step would be in the form of computer games...
I must admit this is a very very smart idea! I have a few questions about your game, if you dont mind me asking,as im very curious. Does the game try to explain the effects of a violent relationship or separation? if so how? Is the game designed to be playable at home, or under the supervision of a psychologist.
If my mother and father had ever argued like that in front of me, I'd consider them horrible parents in a sense. Are you a composer of this game? You seem to know alot about it.
Though the subject is painful, the witty dialogue dissolves much of the stress experienced by the child and enables him to approach these issues. For example, two siblings playing the game together were conflicted whether to go left or right. When asked where they should go, the first answered that mom promised to bake a cake if he went left and couldn't disappoint her. His sister, however, thought the mother was manipulating the hero and therefore made a point of going right.
The children's mother sat in on the session. As a result, a discussion quickly evolved from the characters in the game to where they really felt home was - with their mom or dad, and their expectations about their parents getting back together. It was a chance to deal with their hurt in a way that wasn't possible prior to the game because of the difficulty in addressing the issue.

This is a remarkably creative, effective and insightful way to work with kids.
Even though i was a "divorced kid" many many years ago, it was deeply moving for me to watch and participate in Earthquake in Zipland!
Imagine all of the healing that can be done thru this and offset later adult-life difficulties,
lets go and spread the word folks,

Okay, don't you think that would just make the kid more frustrated and upset?
