Hey today I tried painting four year old nikes, they were kinda worn out, but after all they were for just practice... well I started painting them and I preped them good, when I applied the thin layers of paint some areas were darker than others and some areas started beading, should I practice on rather new shoes? Or did I do something wrong? Please help ill apreciate anything.

@version147 You can, but it's best if you use a paint with an adherent base like "Sole Junkie" seen here or angelus.

@version147 and about the think coats, he just means don't try and lay down a large amount of paint to cover the whole panel at ones. Just use enough to cover the surface. Depending on the color it should take you anywhere from 2-10 coats to get the the solid color you want. Don't worry if it looks blahshy at first , thats just how it works.

you can use airbrush medium to thin out leather paint or lightly use airbrush paint. Too much reg acrylics will crack
