The "Abramsprise" looks some alien race stole the plans to the Constitution class ships and built one for themselves. Kind of like when the Soviets ripped off the plans to our F-15 and built a MiG.
TOS was a well written and well thought out show that broke new ground on drama and to this day is a highly respectable example that you can wow your audience and make them think.......Selling toys was secondary.
@Skybaby79 Pertty sure this also wowed the audience. Leonard Nimoy seemed to believe the script was worthy. Who is complaining to him? You have 2 hours vs 79 TOS episodes. Many of those which were mindless action, as were some of the movies. Haters of Trek 2.0 will just hate it and never think otherwise, so I have no need to really argue. Not sure want you all wanted Paramount to do, but at least Star Trek is being talked about again.

If I'd spent any money to see it, I would have felt like I got ripped off. And I'm old enough that I was able to watch TOS on NBC in the 60s. A lot of us who have been around that long are becoming a little weary of these kids "re-imagining" all of the shows we enjoyed some 40+ years ago.
It's amusing all the time and effort put into bashing Star Trek 2.0....Keep it up, becasue Youtube will be the only place you see any TOS 1.0 stuff. The last movie was a huge success. Which is exactly why there was a reboot. Paramount already screwed this franchise with the last two ST:TNG movies, "Insurrection" and "Nemesis", both steaming piles. The show "Enterprise" was the final straw for me.
Hey, TOS had Kirk in the Captain's chair, who knows who's barking out orders on the "Abrams" version. I still love both ships, but glad to see TOS on top.
I think both enterprises are great ships in their own way. The TOS Enterprise is nostalgic and a classic to us while the new Enterprise is just breath of fresh air that is a great mesh of the refit/original enterprise while packing defiant class heat. :)
I enjoyed every shot of the TOS Enterprise on this video. Also, I would like to see a TV series of the new JJs' Enterprise. As long as they make it close to the original I would be happy to watch it.
There is going to be a new trek movie next year and they become the characters we know of but with that fresh take on like in the recent star trek movie.

i love how the cuts coincide with the music. I also find it funny how the music makes the TOS enterprise out to be the bad guy (klingon BOP in TSFS) as one point and the good guy in the next, but whatever.
