  • it is better to die on your feet than it is on your knees

  • keep the faith people

  • @ mutleychutney I think they're more likely to be talking about the "Labour" Party and the Union leadership.

btw, to our Nazi interlopers, fuck "white power" and its concomitant small penis (that is if it hasn't been fucked enough already).

  • Only a skin could understand the courage to bring forth the plight. In these uncertain times ala Repo Man, I, once an apolitical Skin, managed to form a union to protect public workers in such troubling times. Good luck to all out there!

  • " To the cries of sell out sell out" , they must be talking about

    Billy Bragg.!

  • They sound like an 80's pop band not unlike Jimmy Sommerville or Heaven 17 ; they certainly couldn't have been SKINS. Brass backline ?Gimmy a break !

  • @poulsontheprick I agree. Just Soul music, so what. But still quite OK.

  • @poulsontheprick and for sure they are. It's not typical for Skinheads to play in a Neo-Soulband. But why shouldn't they? This pure british soul beat. And soul, as you know, is essential that skinhead could evolve. Since it's the Mod music, and Mod became working class Hardmod, and Hardmod became Skinhead. Soundwise, they remember me of Dexys Midnight Runners first album. When the Dexys were not yet popfolk but disillusioned Soulboys. By the way Skinhead was very pop in 1969 and the 2Tone-Era.

  • @lbb101 Its hard to see a connection between this and Agnostic Front.Sure there is a thread that starts with the Afro Carib stuff but i prefer the really heavy stuff and i've always thought this kinda stuff was only representative of money hungry record lables with little soul in mind.

  • @poulsontheprick well, talk to Roger Miret about it. Inspite that Roger probably doesn't agree to the political views, he might give you a little more Skinhead history. He is well aware of it. The Ska/Reggae labels were total independents. And history then is pretty straight forward. Just look on Last Resorts bassist Arthur Kitchener Mod in 62, then Skinhead, studio musician for Trojan, got involved in 2Tone and Oi, covering Agnostic Front last LP ...

  • @lbb101 .... as I rethink it. There is a whole host of original Oi!-Bands that started mixin' up Northern Soul, Ska and Powerpop and Punk: Skin Deep, the Guttersnipes, the Burial ....

  • Awesome! Viva La revolution !!!! :)

  • unfortunately they make me think of the swp. Very cringe worthy.

I dont think they where hard core skins?

  • @baleariclife89 Didn't help much did they? miners all gone and the band is forgotten... Like most of the crap of the time

  • @shak123111 wanker

  • Saw them support Billy Bragg in the 80's. Knew fk all about them them and fk all about them now, but this track stuck.

    Smash The State.

  • Viva La Revolution!!!!

  • I used to listen to this over and over on a tiny car stereo (cassette player) in my little Triumph Vitesse convertable and I thought I was so keep on keeping on it wasn't funny. Ha ha

  • OMG this was so hard core 25 years ago and now it's just cool. Still a graet sound. Makes you want to sing along - know all the lyrics and you just cant help tapping your foot (well I can't anyway) Makes me want to be rebeliious and young again - boo hoo. luv'em

  • when there's nowt but shit out there this has to make a comeback.

  • can this be downloaded from i tunes??? enough of those could put the redskins back in their proper place ...no.1 at a time when their lyrics are as appropriate now as they were then!!!!!! keep on keeping on!!!!

  • classic!
