  • a absolut good rifle,

    best regats from germany!

  • definately fake. ww2 never happened.

  • @EricToTheScionti WWII and the events that followed are a copywright of infinity ward

  • @tehatemachine NO! NOOOOOOO!

  • Nice

I found one but don't know what to offer him

    What's the price one them?

  • DO WANT!

  • @nukeage: I would have to disagree and say that within European conflicts, they made the worst. The Germans had the best built, but the fewest numbers. Americans had the most reliable, but most expensive. Production value of WWII Soviet weapons is horrible. However, because such little time and money was spent on making these weapons, they produced A LOT. alone, enough Mosin Nagants were produced so that every Soviet serviceman could be issued 3. And when we're talking about the large

  • i say the soviet made the best guns of ww2!

  • For Vanyaanav - I belong to a gun club just north of my house. I'm fortunate to live in an area with a lot of fellow shooters so finding a place to go is not a problem.

  • Wow! $200 loss from having the stock refinished...know where I can find any with refinished stocks then??? ;-) BTW, Vanyaaynav is asking where do you take them (presumable to shoot)?

  • Где вы их берете?

  • I can weld a bigger magazine, I know its not legal...but im pretty sure i am not gonna use it legally anyway LOLLLLLLL

  • @ferdin12 Where I live that magazine would be legal. We don't have restrictions on magazine capacity. As a matter of fact, I have a Hakim chambered for 8mm Mauser that has a 20 round MG 13 magazine that was made to function with that rifle. Loads of fun.

  • I want one soooooooooooooooooooo bad. How much for one?

  • @BgKnoccoutGangstaDre A garden-variety refub goes for ~$700-$900, depending on condition. The biggest value killer being when someone refinishing the stock. That alone will reduce the value by as much as $200.

  • @stonleywave Got one about 4 months ago, its only a 4-digit serial number, fall of 1941 apparently, all matching serial numbers, and its still got the original Silver bolt, only cost me $350 Canadian. The regular refurb plum-bolt SVT 40's go for less than $300 at one of our local gun shops

  • @stonleywave

at those prices, might as well spend a couple hundred more and buy a brand new vepr 7.62x54r

  • @BgKnoccoutGangstaDre they go for $299

  • Heh heh I like how the targets jump around when hit :o)

  • Pretty cool rifle, kind of looks like the love child of an sks and an ak47.

  • lol 0:54 the bottle goes flyin

  • SVT-40 or SKS?

  • @psycobillysutter SVT-40. An sks won't roll like this.

  • @stonleywave i went out to bought an SKS last Month... ended up with an 1941 SVT-40...Absolutly NO REGRETS !... great gun with alot of history !! iv posted 2 vids yesterday ;P

  • @stonleywave SVT-4o's are so much better, and damn they are sexy. What funny is that I show up at the range with mine and ppl ask, "what is that?" you show up with an AK or SKS, no one else takes a second look

  • @stonleywave Can you get tracers for SVT 40

  • @ferdin12 I haven't seen tracers for the 7.62x54r for sale, but they be available.

  • somethings very beautiful about that gun. idk why

  • Why is he snatching at the trigger??

  • The Wehrmacht used more of these guns than of G43s i think!

  • This is AK-47's father and STG-44 is the mother

  • @brentyt See, I'd say this isn't spam, because you're showing us something of interest to the video. How many u.s. dollars per canadian dollar?

  • @Djames516 Well at the moment the US Dollar and the Canadian Dollar are pretty much even, actually the Canadian dollar is a few cents above the US for the past few months. I though 350 wasnt very bad at all for something that i've seen go for 1000 or 1200 in the US

  • which one is better? M1 garand or SVT-40 ?

  • @foongnerf123 - It depends on how you define better. The SVT is chambered for a comparable cartridge, is semi-auto, light, has an adjustable gas system and a detachable 10 round box magazine.

The Garand is better constructed, slightly more accurate, easier to field strip/maintain and has better ergonomics.

    I love to shoot both.

  • @stonleywave and the garand you cant reload half way through a magaziene

  • @foongnerf123 gewehr 43 also nice:)

  • How hard are these to find? I have a mosin and would like a semi-auto rifle in that same caliber.

  • @SloJoe18 - They're getting harder to find. You can still find them at gun broker .com but the price has gone from~$700 a few years ago to ~$1000 today.

  • @stonleywave i bought my in italy for 400 euro

  • @Mnemotron2010 - Not too bad. What are the gun laws like in Italy? Can you shoot this rifle there?

  • @stonleywave the gun laws here are a bit "strange".Yes i can shoot it at the range but here a lot of it are only for pistols,so i have to do a lot of kilometres for reach a range where shoot my svt. This is the biggest problem here, you can buy a lot of weapons (only single shoot) but there are only few locations where you can use them. And about yours laws?

  • @Mnemotron2010 Our guns laws are not as restrictive. We can own any type of small arm but most of the rifles purchased in the US are hunting rifles, and semi-automatic versions of the M-16. In most states, we can use magazines that hold more than 10 rounds and you can find a range to shoot any sort of rifle and pistol you'd wish in all 50 states. We have a strong gun culture, but many here would like to change that and limit what we can own and shoot. Fortunately, they are in the minority.

  • @stonleywave i love yours laws about guns. Here you can have 10 round magazine maximun and the range for big calibers are scarce.I have also an M4 copy made by norinco.Another problem here is the price of the ammo that is very high and you can't buy mil surplus ammo :(.And here many people hate guns :(((

  • @SloJoe18 U should get an sks

  • is it accurate? what caliber and effective range does it have?

  • @MultiBlam - It's about as accurate as an M1 Garand and will shoot 3"-5" groups at 100 yards all day long. The key is to get one with a decent barrel.

  • Nice eye on the target!

  • Is this rifle worth buying for $300?

  • @fatoni698 Yes. Unless it's missing parts or has been sporterized.

  • @stonleywave Cool, I have been thinking of picking one up since there is a tonne of them up here in Canada and it would be nice to have a semi auto in 7.62x54r since it's cheap (relatively) and has some decent power.

  • @fatoni698 $300! Dang, thats a good price!

  • @Ranger4321 How much are they down south? I know you guys stopped importing them.

  • @fatoni698 Ive never seen them down here in the local gunshops, but when theres a gunshow, theyre around $500-$600 sometimes more depending on the condition and such.

  • @Ranger4321 Oh well, I'd pay twice as much in a heartbeat to have regular capacity magazines. And to hunt with an AR-15. Etc, etc etc...... Plus AR-15's are dirt cheap in America compared to Canada and we can only shoot them at a range.

  • @fatoni698 It is nice to have regular capacity magazines, but hunting with an AR-15 is impractical for anything larger than a Coyote. I own a Springfield M1A/M14 and it gives me the diversity to shoot anything from Coyote to Deer to Elk. There are magazine restrictions on repeating rifles like the AR-15 and the M1A, I believe where i live it cant have more than 5 or 10 rounds. Haha, man i wish they were dirt cheap here otherwise id have at least two in different calibers.

  • @Ranger4321 It's not that it's practical to hunt with one it's that you CAN if you want. We can only take them to and from the range in a locked container. And your AR-15's are dirt cheap compared to Canada. Take your price and add 300-500 dollars for the same thing up here.

  • did the russians base the design of the SKS off the SVT? i never did notice it til just now but the SKS does look a lot like the SVT

  • @johndeereman567 - Externally there are similarities but the action and gas system are different. Also, the SVT is purpose built for the 7.62x54r rifle round whereas the SKS is chambered for the less powerful 7.62x39 cartridge. I like and own both, by the way, and they are great rifles in their own right.

  • @stonleywave yea i looked at the 2 rifles on google images real close last nite n i noticed there were differences btwn the 2. the stocks on the rifles look the same but they are pretty different. n yes they are very good rifles. my friends dad has an SKS. friggin beast gun

  • @johndeereman567

The SKS is actually based off of an anti-tank rifle, the PTRS-41.

  • @ytykg no it aint ur fulla shit

  • @johndeereman567

    Wow, nice reply...

Sergai Simonov Designed both the PTRS-41, and the SKS. They share the same operating system (on different scales of course).

The SVT-40 was designed by Fedor Tokarev, and only shares an external similarity with the SKS.

I own an SVT40, and SKS carbines. They are similar but do not operate in the same way.

  • Man, I've been wanting a battle/ semi auto rifle in the 7.62x54R I own a Mosin, and now I think its time to pick this badassery up asap. I fell in love with the 7.62x54R about 6months ago.

  • im going to be getting an unissued russian TULA SVT-40..im trading my custom AR15 straight up for one! these are BRAND NEW..hes a FFL gun builder, and a friend has a unopened crate of them, ones mine!!!...also SKSs,Hakims,AK47s,MOSINS,Rasheeds

  • @sinofallsinners Very nice. Please be sure to post pic/video when you get it. That sounds like quite a find.

  • @stonleywave thanks man, yeah ive been hunting a SVT for a long time,i went into my friends shop and there was a type 56,traded .22mag and 25$,i asked about an SVT and he said theyr here and i can get em,so im happy..ill sub and add you as a friend so i can show it to you.by the way nice freakin gun man, also my favorite WW2 battle rifle

  • @sinofallsinners wait, what... Why areyou trading a ar-15 for one? In canada at least you can pick up an svt40 for like 400 on average, 600 max. Def not worth the trade mate.

  • @mahoney53 i agree..but they are expensive in the states at least in my area...1000 is about right for one in pristine condition..the one i am waiting on is an original Tula unissued SVT-40 fresh outta the crate..i just think Canada has more SVTs from what ive read and easier to find.but in the states a brand new, never fired,or used SVT-40 brings top dollar.your right i love my custom AR15 and i hate to part with it!! its one of a kind??

  • Very nice shooting from an excellent rifle.

  • How accurate is this rifle?

  • @TheEvilX338 I can print 3"-4" groups at a 100 yards fairly routinely.

  • My buddy's about to trade into one of these... This vid is getting me so stoked to see her. You know you've got a badass firearm when it's a battle rifle chambered in a caliber commonly used to hunt polar bears.

  • @seairland312 Let me know how your first trip to the range goes. My bet is that you'll totally groove on it...

  • 0:53 Okay

    k..

    K..

    OKAY

    OKAY ITS DEAD

  • @Dragunov1185 So you didn't like the hang time?

  • @stonleywave no i was just joking because you shot it so many times lol

  • @Dragunov1185 Die! Die! Die! Stupid milk jug... You should get on of these rifle. They're a lot of fun.

  • @stonleywave I'm sure they are fun, but from what i'e heard, theyre very expensive :(

  • great video. its refreshing to see someone just out havin' fun with his guns! about how much do these rifle go for? i've always though it to be an interesting piece of history. think of the things your gun has seen?! amazing.

  • @TheChatham1967 You get it. It's as much or more about the history of these rifles that draws me to them than anything else. Being able to shoot them is just a bonus track.

  • whoa!

  • SVT 40 - WAS A BEST AT TIME WW2 .

  • @MrHrennikov It was a great rifle for its time and I really enjoy shooting it. Have you shot one?

  • @stonleywave Yes : SKS , SVT40(7.62X54) , riffle Mauser( Germany) ........ PPSH 41(7.62x25) , PPS43 , AKM74

  • @MrHrennikov Were you in the military? If so, when and where did you serve?

  • @stonleywave Radio-communcation

  • @MrHrennikov svt 40 was a good rifle but i think the sks or m1 garand was a bit better. plus theres the ppsh-41

  • @FrankieJames7 Видишь , как ты по английски пишешь хорошо . А то всё по сербски , по сербски .

  • @MrHrennikov wtf is serbian?

  • @FrankieJames7 Как по сербски ХУЙ ? Вам лучше знать .

  • There is something to be said for a gun when you could go to Berlin, dig one up that's been buried there since the end of the war and I bet you it'd probably still fire lol. People can say what they want about Russian weaponry; those fuckers know how build solid stuff that lasts out of next to nothing and have it be as simple as a brick.

  • @pleasuretrip you got that right, the ak47 is one of the best assualt rifles in the world

  • @DRGK9 I'm not really an AK fan myself but that's just a personal preference. It's a hell of a gun. I prefer larger calibers (hence my reason for searching for an SVT 40 vid; I kinda want one) and normally go for bolt actions; my enfield or my mosin nagant for example. I don't know.. just something about cycling a bolt that feels old timey and kinda cool. To me anyway. However, the general rule is if it goes bang and metal flies out of the end, I'm interested. :-)

  • my mac 90 turn ya ass to a sack a leaves

  • Proud to count an SVT-40 amongst my own collection. It draws a lot of attention at the range when it starts barking.

  • it looks like an for sks but another thing I have a mosin for 120$ how much iss this onr

  • hey where do you find russian world war 2 guns, i own a mosin nagant, and im gettingan sks, but i want more, im crazed about russian wood guns GEZUS I WANT MOER

  • @Timespartan111 I like your passion. The old Russian iron is fun to shoot and collect and if you want an SVT, I would suggest searching for one on G u n b roker. co m. Be aware that most of the bores will not be pristine and try to stay away from those that have had the stock sanded and refinished. They run between $700-$900 so save your pennies.

  • @stonleywave ): i tried that website befor idont trustit and how does it work? is it like? auction?

  • @stonleywave You can buy one in Canada for $300!

  • @zeppelinesque - Well go get one! They're fun to shoot. Can you still get 10 round mags or do they only come with five rounders?

  • @stonleywave No, all center-fire rifles are limited to five rounds. Still got me an SKS, though...better add one of these!

  • @stonleywave In case anybody hasn't responded to this, it's still a 5-round cap up here in the north. All semiautomatic weapons carry this restriction above .22 caliber.

  • @Keinlicht Such a stupid law. >.>

  • @kop4321 It's merits are debatable. While I'd fucking love full sized magazines, it makes sense to limit the capacity of semiautomatic or weapons easily converted to automatic. The only problem is that it's piss easy to convert those magazines to carry a full 30 rounds.

  • thats awesome

  • that was fuking shit

  • horoshyee oruzhie :)

  • That is a sweet rifle.

  • nice rifle!

  • Atleast you'll still have it when you prestige ;) ;) ;)

  • excellent shooting, You taught those NAZI'S a thing or two LOL

  • Range?

  • @Cougar545x39 Range, as in shooting range or gun range.

  • @stonleywave shooting range

  • @Cougar545x39 Range, as in shooting range or gun range. As a matter of fact, I just got back from shooting an SVT at the gun range near my house. It was a good way to spend a Friday afternoon.

  • What is the expected accuracy of these WWII SVT-40's in MOA?

  • @hgintern The SVTs I've shot seem to be capable of 3"-4" groups at 100 yards with iron sights. The groups can be a bit smaller if you get one with a good barrel and you do your part well...

  • what caliber is have?is it better than sks?(i heard is a quite complicate gun for his time)

  • A similar action to the FAL.

  • I really love how the birds sing so nice;) fits right in with the gun.

  • thx4 uploading :-)

  • nice one love this gun

  • Really good shooting there mate !, impressive stuff

  • where can i get one plz tell me

  • @rubberduky55 Go to g u nbrok er. c om and type in "SVT" for the key-word search. There are several up for sale right now.

  • @stonleywave thanks and how much did u buy irs for

  • @rubberduky55 I paid $700 for this one, but that was four years ago. They sell for ~$750-$900 now, depending on condition.

  • @stonleywave Ouch! That must be the prices in the U.S. Mine only cost 400 in Canada. That was just a year ago perhaps.

  • @stonleywave Wow, there are literally tons of these here in Canada. They usually run $350 or so for an excellent condition rifle.

  • @PontoonTeek - Do you have to register them or apply for a permit to purchase one?

  • @stonleywave Yes, everyone has to pass a course and get a Firearms Possession/Acquisition License to legally own any firearm. All guns that are bought or sold must also be registered with the RCMP.

Its a pain in the ass sometimes, but luckily 99% of milsurp rifles are unrestricted, meaning we can actually take them out and shoot them unlike things such as pistols or black rifles.

  • @PontoonTeek omfg theres some in canada!? i gotta get me one, from quebec howdy

  • Nice shooting

  • @hockeywarrior Thank you.

  • this really makes me want to go blast stuff with my m1 garand and kregsmeren (german navy) kar98k , then buy a svt and a mosion nagunt and a m1 carbine etc

once you have one ww2 gun, it jsut grows on you

  • @catsam77 It's an addiction...but it's a GOOD addiction like working out or eating right. Now go shoot that old iron of yours!

  • @catsam77 i bought the mosin, now i have a japanese type 38 carbine i believe, with the crysanthum, a lee enfield mark 4 1943 issue, and a type 14 later issue nambu pistol with all mactching numbers inlcuding mag.

  • Damn! That rifle is a BEAST. Even though communism sucks, you gotta give props to the Soviets for making some badass guns.

  • NICE!!! so is this kind of like the predecessor to the SKS??

  • @psychoclown420

Please read the older comments, as the relation to the SKS has been described. The SVT-40 and AVS-36 both influenced the design of the SKS, and in many ways the SKS is an amalgamation of both rifles, scaled down and chambered for a medium-power cartridge.

Nice shooting by the way. I'd like to own an SVT-40, but somehow I think I never will.

  • I remember in the early to mid 60's these rifles being sold for $12. They were all stuffed into a 50 gallon drum and you picked the one you wanted. Hindsight beiing 20/20 I wish we could have gotten a few.

  • @themanroom126 A barrel full of SVTs...that sound like heaven!

  • @stonleywave what about avt the full auto version

  • @themanroom126 nowadays we look at barrels of cheap AKs, but they dont measure up to the SVT, someday we will look back and say, "damn i wish i had gotten one of those while they were cheap".

  • @themanroom126 My dad told me about when he was a kid in the late 50's. You could go to any Woolworth or Kmart and buy M1 Garands and 1903 Springfield's for $5-$10. Nazi K98Ks were only $3. Thousands were sold and chopped up into sporter hunting rifles.

  • @themanroom126 are you serious, $12?!

  • @saj12100 Yes...early to late 60's,That place sold barrel fulls of surplus rifles. I'm talking everything. I remember prices like $7 for surplus bolt actions. $12 for semi autos. A collectors dream. Ahh....the good ole days.... .

  • @themanroom126 I wish it was still like that, it just shows how the prices are flying up, and today we think $100 for a mosin nagant is cheap!

  • @saj12100 remember 12 back then is alot more now

  • @HUMMER7O5 yea.

  • @themanroom126 these semi auto were? god i thought only the bolt action were

  • @willowrhayne The place that sold these had just about every type of surplus rifle you can imagine. They were all stuffed into a 50 gallon drums. Just pick what you want. I remember my Dad being asked by a clerk if he was interested in any of the rifles. He said : "What am I going to do with those sticks"? Years ago he told me that if knew how much they would be worth, he would have got several rifles for my brother and me. He vividly recalls the SVT40. "The gun with the holes in the barrel".

  • that gun looks uncomfortable to shoot

  • Can i ask how much you payed for it?

  • @jakeman52 I paid $650 for this one a few years ago. Today, the going rate is anywhere from $700-$900, depending of condition.

  • @stonleywave can i buy it from ya ;D

  • @jakeman52 Most everything has a price, but I can guarantee that the asking price would be more than what I paid for it! These rifles have really shot up in value over the past year or two. I'm not sure why, but they have so, if you want one, do so quickly.

  • @stonleywave my dad found 1 of these in his job some weeks ago they get Timber and such from Russia and in 1 of the loads a Svt 40 followed they found it in the metal collector the Stock was gone but other wise it was pretty good condition

  • @Mattebubben Wow. Do you still have it?

  • @stonleywave ye we have it as his job

  • @jakeman52 i recently bought one for CAD$400, fresh off the boat from russia.

  • After the war a few thousand where rechambered to 303 by Globco and renamed the mohawk 555. As there wasn't a supply of 7.62x54r in the US or Canada.

  • I shot a mosin-nagant now that's a kicker!!!

if your not alert it will smack you in the face lol
