  • Thanks man it help me decide to buy it!

  • great product thanks alot man

  • What camera is being used for the beginning footage?

  • @TheChocorooms

    Canon HV30

  • Sonicballer8888 is correct. It is the Canon HV30 that was used to shoot the video.

  • Is the gimbal available separately?

  • Has anyone try this on 5D Mark II? Maybe put on heavier weights, it could work too.

  • @harbin88

    yea it would work.

  • you could modify the grip to have a support the rests under the forearm, and if your arm still gets tired maybe you could try lifting some weights...

  • This is really excellent results for such a small assembly.

  • i got it. It is really light. No wrist/forearm fatigue whatsoever. Even if there was, it would be good exercise anyway.

  • @waveriderz lol, i agree.

  • Well these shots aren't smooth at all. the camera still swings around -thats not what a proper tracking shot should look like

  • This is awesome can i buy this for 100 bucks? Seriosuly?

  • or make one yourself for under 40 bucks :P

  • @Cr381v3

those ones suck. ESPECIALLY the poor man's $14 steadycam.

  • you mean those T/L-shaped things? like two metal bars combined with a weight at the bottom? yeah, those really suck. but with a brain like mine and some time (and of course $40 hehe) you can get the same result as the SteadiCam whatever... btw, this model look almost like mine i made a few months ago. Super smooth :)

  • @Cr381v3

yea, then that sounds good. I'm just not that good at building things, and I am too lazy to look for the parts. But hey. I'm still saving alot more money than buying a Merlin. This steadycam is great for me. I use it alot in my videos and it produces great results.

  • Thought about building my own, but that's a nice gimble.

  • You do realize that your in violation of U.S. trademark law. Just because you change the I in the name Steadicam to a Y as you did in Steadycam does not mean you can use the name SteadicamTM, Steadycam, Steadi Cam, or Steady Cam.

  • We have the utmost respect for Garrett Brown and his inventive mind. As you may know, Mr. Brown invented the original Steadicam back in 1976. Since then, it has been used in numerous movies, commercials, sporting events, concerts, etc. The name has become so wide spread that it is now used in the credits of every major film referencing the camera operator using a Steadicam style camera stabilizer.

  • It is now estimated that under 10% of those referenced actually use Steadicam brand equipment for the filming of the movies. We believe at this point Steadicam has become a generic trademark. Out of respect for Mr. Brown and Tiffen, we use Steadycam with a Y, preceded by MiniDV to indicate the type of product we sell. MiniDV indicates that our product is intended for smaller digital camcorders.

  • We do not consider our products to be in direct competition with the Steadicam products, but rather a stepping stone for those interested in learning the basic fundamentals of how to use a Steadicam. To prevent any confusion, we include our company name and logo (if applicable) in all advertising and print material we do.

  • What are you some kind of rat?

  • Hi !! There I like what I have just seen, but need a quick answer Can I use this SteadyCam for my HG10 ?

  • Having the Vado HD and the Casio EX FH-20 any suggestions on how this stedy cam will work with either or both.

Any and all comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  • Sonicballer888. Without any accessory on the HG10. Still won't cut it. Just a little heavy for this mini steadicam

  • But isn't the hv30 heavier than the HG10? I heard that the HV30 is amazing with this steadycam.

  • i think you need to work on balancing it. that's why. the HG10 is only 1 and a half pounds for crying out loud.

  • lol at 0:32 the kid can't get the water 8( lol

  • The steadycam came today. My HG10 is a little heavy for this well made steadycam. Because the heavy HG10 and on top of that I got a External mic on it. In order for me to mount my heavy canon 43mm wide angle converter lens I have to add a steel plate 9 1/2 long x 4" wide x .250 thick to get the extra weight I needed to balance my heavy camera and accessory. If you got a lighter camcorder this the one to get.

  • hg10? Heavy? I thought hg10's were crazy light.

The only way that that could be heavy is if you got a really heavy mic. Let me guess, you have the Rode VideoMic?

  • This is a nice steadicam. I will get one soon. Look like a well designed.

  • Has anyone tried one of these with a Flip Mino HD?

  • thats too small

  • Yeah there is no market for the Flip Mino HD, and it has no built in Image Stabilizer; not to mention it would be even more compact that these mini DV steadycams. Someone needs to fill this nitch market!

  • it would work. This is designed for small cameras. But make sure you balance it right. You're not going to need much weight on the bottom to balance the Flip.

  • I am actually saving my pennies for this, its a good price.

  • You can get it on ebay :D

  • Where to get it?

  • how about checking the link on the right. I'm not sure but you probably can get it from there.
