ok try ctrl+ left click, or alt+left or right click. I think in the HUD there is an option also to change to melee. Just click on the archers and examine the HUD.

i think its very easy(in real life) to kill medievel knights,they had only a chainmail tunic to protect their body,that is very easy to pierce,heavy cavalery could destroy them very easly

When you chase the enemy, please, turn off all the fire from your missile units.

Look from 8:26. You can speak about luck if none of the arrows hit your own units.

Avoiding friendly fire is one of the basic things you need to learn as a general ;)

yeah I'm usually careful with friendly fire, however, this video was an exception since I wanted it to look "Dangerous", "Rash" and more dramatic, thats why I did what I did anyway.

Interesting. I would liked to have seen the camera motion move much slower and smoother, but you did a good job. It didn't make much sense to use "C.E.", a modern method of referring to a historic event that plays such an important part in why these two people were fighting.

@Megashehri Hi. Yes i can agree with you. Medieval II is the best game ever made no doubt, but there is small lack of historic point. Generally Heraldry (White fleur-de-lis is fail, it looks like Quebec flag, not France), Name of Factions and It would be really nice to change names of unit in original language of specific faction, but we have good mods that could change this things. Cheers ;).

Nice battle. The only change I would have made is to run the horse archers around to the enemy's rear or sides. This minimizes friendly fire losses and often breaks up the organization of the enemy. They can also mount a couple of fake charges to prevent or delay the enemy cavalry from charging your lines. Putting cavalry at the flanks was a specialty of Islamic armies in general, Amir Khalid ibn Waleed in particular was famed for this.

2:30...two large lines of cavalry charge...and the broken charge mechanic in the vanilla version of the game can be seen...I enjoyed how charging in Rome Total War wasn't a problem and then in Medieval II it took mods to even get the AI in battle to act correctly.

To decrease your amount of casualties you must have the horse archers . Then try to flanking ur enemy from both sides using ur horse archers then push ur infantries or archers in the middle with the general bodyguards behind them, try it . It's effective and i promise you less casualties when i used this tactic .

hehe don't worry, men still charged each other during the Napoleonic times. Bayonets, swords, cavalry. You still kind of got it. But you also have a lot of guns.. and cannons :p

most likely in a defending situation you'll be fine with 3 sets of archers in tight formation at the front of the gate, 4 sets of spears in front of the gate and 2-3 sets of heavy infantry where ever the ladders and towers go. its sad but true this is how you'll beat the game. the units will cost you arround 1300 florins. meaning if you have an advanced crop field and a market that army will be self sustainable.

i hate fighting agaisnt elephants with cannons agaisnt infantry they slaughter my men when in tight formation or in a breach in the wall against the timiruds. i've been playing this for so long now. btw u must have a pretty good rig to play med 2 with them huge units and really high grafics. mine can only run large -=( btw do u have emipre total war? med2 is one of the best rts games i have played. i still remeber medivel total war the orginal seems like so long ago lol. nice vid btw

best stratagy for siege is make 2,ladders 2,towers and a ram then go and flank them thats why theres usaully four roads to the square and towers are slow and the best to storm walls with because the infantry gos up and 200 miles an hour(exageration) so you get them through the wall then ram door using archers too occuipie the soliders on the walls after gates down use archers to fire from all directions this should (maybe) insure victory

yeah get a fairly new graphics card from nividia geforce (GTX 280), and if you have 4GB ram that would be awesome. You could just wait and get a new pc lol, and also get a new CPU and you can then play any new game on high settings.

Your cpu seems fine but not the best. And your 1GB of ram is low unfortunately. If it was 2 or 4 GB of ram that would be best.

Video card and graphics cards is the same, so if you have a good graphics card you might be able to run the game fine but not the best. But its also awesome on medium since I used to play on medium settings for a long time

When i meet larger army with more upgraded stats, i usually take some fast archer cavarly and run the enemy foot soldiers exchausted. Then I focus on enemy genral, and send all my cavarly troops to kill him. When he dies, its usually easy to beat enemy infatry even with lower class peasants and spearmen.

I also wanted to make it look more "epic" and daring like.

I was not fighting to win but fighting to show an intense battle, but I won anyway :p
