  • are these letters, sounds or morphems with meaning?

    omg, what a difficult language

  • each symbol means a word....an alphabet doesnt exist here

  • @zos2322 omg, how i'm supposed to memorize all the chinese words?? is there any logic behind these lines and curves?

  • start by numbers...usually they get your pronounciation good...then move to pronouns......common things...start using a chinese dictionary

and....star reading chinese children books..start from the bottom...build your way up

  • @zos2322 o.k memorizing words isn't as difficult as chinese characters unless i understand meaning of each line. is there any symbolic connection between phoneme and ieroglyph's element?

  • well you have to memorize each sound for each word also.....

its like the mesopotamian writing system to me....and this is nothing lol

cantonese..the other chinese dialect has 7 tones!

  • google b y k i and they have a program with all sorts of help...it's really good...

theyre not that hard...im 16 years old and people said mandarin is really hard....

not true...if you really like it and dedicated than you can do it...i've learn to speak fluently : french, italian, portugese, chinese mandarin and english in a course of 5 years.

  • @zos2322 thx for that !

  • @nosorog91 look for books that talk about the history of the words. the concept is similar to egyptian hieroglyphics- all of the chinese characters once looked like a picture of the actual object/thing. they also have roots similar to the way english words have latin roots

  • @nosorog91 Yes, of course, but only for traditional Chinese (coz simplified chinese has ruined all the shpaes of chinese character) Some Chinese characters like "山"(mountain), "火"(fire), "龜"(turtle) look like a mountain, a fire and a turtle.

  • @nosorog91 yes, there is a logic to it, and it's very interesting, especially if you can also make a story for yourself in order to remember them. I suggest you read "Fun With Chinese Characters" (3 volumes) scribd_com_doc_7683282_Fun-With-Chinese-Characters-v1

  • sorry terrible lesson. you should use compounds & words

with pinyin & the meaning (yeah i saw them) in Bigger text.

and Yes chinese writing system is Brilliant!

anyone who thinks "its Dumb" is just to dumb to learn or understand

  • @siddude You know what, you won't say it if your mother language is Chinese.

  • Interesting but not helpfull to beginners,

  • 我的名字是康納爾

  • to ten in Mandarin Chinese: yi er san si wu liu qi ba jiu shi <3

  • in nihon=ichi ni san yon go roku nana hachi kyuu juu :)

  • also can be ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, ku, juu.

notice 4, 7, and 9 are different. You use different versions of numbers to count certain things.

Like when telling time you use a third variation for yon = yo-ji.

  • yup but some of the alternates have like a bad meaning thats why ones used rather than the other...and if im correct (hopefully) gogo yo-ji means 4pm???
