  • Maybe you could put down subtitles for when the natives speak in the box under the video, where you put "I Don't Own the Movie," or whatever else the poster wants to add about the video. That would make me feel so much better and maybe some people will appreciate it a bit more.

  • A very sad time in our country's history.

  • A dear friend of mine, Leonard Little Finger, his Great great Grandfather Chief Sitanka was killed at Wounded Knee that year. The man y'all saw on the ground holding the white flag of surrender in his hand. He was extremely sick with Pnemonia when the 7th Cavalry shot him.

  • and the american indians don't really qualify as 'american' because they never did anything like this either. So they're always the victims so you can always feel sorry for them and patronize them, and not treat them on equal terms.

if you want equality then you have to have, equality.

  • @elenore88 and since when did hollywood ever really champion everyones best interests?

  • @elenore88 without true 'equality' - you will never ask why. and if you don't ask why - you can never fix the problem.

denial just destroys even further. (both sides usually)

  • Americans kill innocent sons of bitches, all gotta die

  • @dogaogordao oh just like how the German killed six million Jews, or how the British killed two million Irish and countless more in Africa dude there is no country that has not killed innocent people, i don't where your from but i bet a million bucks there isn't any country you say that hasn't killed innocent people stop being a bigot idiot

  • this part is horrible. poor them.

  • They even want to shoot the beautiful Mustangs- the backbone of American History, sick!

  • @weeGeorgiegirl i know even thought i'm not American.

  • It's not the first time the white oeople (mostly the men with a few exeptions) have done this to other races of people, Native Americans, Haiwians Eskimos, Jews, and Africans and still going on somewhere on this Earth . STOP being such big Bullies! life is too short as it is .... PS I am a WASP and I think what they have done is unspeakably cruel& what or who will "they" choose next?

  • @TheRosaLee23 They had been moved to Wounded Knee in anticipation of the disarming as the ghost dances had begun to startle the white people. When the solider tried to take the gun from Black Coyote he didn't hear the order so he attempted to keep it. The gun fired and the soldiers assumed the Indians had begun to attack. I don't think what they did was right but they weren't doing it for medals. There was brutality on both sides over time, we can't just blame the white Americans

  • Damn americans

  • I feel so sad watching this part ...people are so willing to judge harshly others...time to stop and think ...we are all here together ...if one loses all loose

  • was so bored watching this part of the movie, yet again.

  • @PauleQueenie get a life.no one forced you to watch this part asshole. out of all the parts of this movie, this is the most true part. what we see dipicted here is only a small example of the horrible, atrocious things people did to native americans, their livelihood, and THEIR lives. i pity you...but then again, i'm sure you're not enough of a man to deserve my pity or anyone elses.

  • @ChaosInAGlassCage, I like you youngsters. You do not know HOW to read MY comments and throw me you unwise and unecessary comments. Do I need to get a PHD in copyright breaking so you become a little more gracious towards me with your comments? I do NOT pity you, I do NOT undermine you and I do NOT insult you either. Don't you learn some manner in school, even grammar school? READ my initial comment again and then take the time to think before replying

  • even though im white, i hate white christian america

  • they say 27 congressional medals of honor were awarded for bravery, and that is true. for no other battle in american history have this many awards been given out.

  • You have no idea how grateful I am this movie is posted on here. I just spent several hours scouring my campus for it and NO ONE HAS IT!! So I was so glad to see it on here!!

  • I will give my life for you frodo.

  • thanks for the video, appreciate it (Y)

  • This is terrible....I just hate how we took this land. This land that is not ours. I know that America has helped many people, but it was not right, not moral to take land, to kill the people who it belonged to. Look the what the NA has become!

    Drunkards.

she says something along the lines i think of "whatever path you take, choose wisely and don't forget who you are..."

    something like that.

    <3

  • Hokshila means Boy in Lakhota Sioux

  • Comment removed

  • how can something so awful become from one little misunderstanding? :(

  • Thanks for posting the movie, but where are the subtitles for when the Natives speak? The old woman who approaches Hopkins, she is calling him 'Blue Child', and when they try to disarm the man with the gun, the woman is supposed to be saying, "Please, he is deaf. He cannot hear your commands." What happened...?

  • you want all the features? go buy the DVD

  • i tried puttin up subtitles but for some reason it wont work so srry :/

  • @BlueCollarTweaker D: hes daef??????????!

  • GorinRedspear, believe it or not we are not all like that so don't insault us all for something only some of us did not to mention its over

  • Hidalgo is so fast and strong, but most of all GORGEOUS. GIMME CUTE HORSE NOW! lol

  • all of that because one deaf man didn't understand what they said. damn murdering yankee basterds!

and than they reward the cowards for it as well!

who wants to know what US stands for, you just got an answer: "U'r all shit to us"

  • this part makes me want to cry. And They are ABORIGINAL, not "Indians", thats a term made up by Europeans.

  • Aboriginal is a European word as well. Most of the tribal names we know of in English are actually English corruptions of the original names. And many place names in America are English corruptions of the native place names. Have you ever asked any of them what the proper word is? My guess is the answer will be Cherokee, Cheyenne, Mohawk, etc. As for a generic term, I think Indian is as good as any (but what do I know, I'm only a white boy with a little bit of Cherokee blood)

  • they call them indians because one lost sailor thought he reached india. and I, for one, take an insult in calling these people Sioux. They're Lakota for crying out loud. Sioux means 'enemy', who's enemy would they be?

  • I was under the impression that the Aboriginals lived in Australia. Also, the white folks used the word 'Indians' because when Columbus discovered America, he believed it was India. It wasn't really a racist term back then. I see your point though.

  • man its terrible how a minor misunderstanding can lead to a massacre

  • Danm the US army for killing my people...

  • i feel so sad that there aren't many indians these days.

  • well that is life, all fluid and changing, as much as we humans like to adhere to our costumes and traditions, they will always be replaced by new ones 1 way or other.

The only thing we can do is learn the good of each.

  • im part Cherokee but dont look it at all.

  • why arent the subtitles on for when the indians speak?

  • Everybody read the book " Bury my heart at Wounded Knee".

  • The worst part is that Wounded Knee actually happened. Thank's for uploading by the way, I've been looking for this movie everywhere.

  • Im so fricking PISSED!

  • OMG! i can't believed that happened!

    i sooooo f**** pissed!!!!!!!

  • israel is doing that right now

  • 2:35 thats my dad! "give the the gun, let go of it!" when i lived in rapid city, south dakota they were recruiting extras. my dad was one of them Joe Johnston, the director, like the looks of my dad, and there ya go!

  • Is your dad really that racist?

  • Wow, that's really cool!

I've always wanted to be in a movie, even if only an extra. ^^-

  • that´s soo sad :( poor them

  • so sad

  • that was sooo sad

  • why such small parts?

  • haha i wasnt pay attention to how long they were but then i make them longer later on in the parts

  • Has anyone seen 'Into the West' from TNT? Better portrayal, I think...but this part is very sad...

  • Certainly an eye-burner.

This scene is actually very accurate to what transpired that morning, including what happened with Black Coyote (Deaf man with the gun.)

Even the glimpse with Black Foot holding the flag is a splitting a spliting image of a photograph that was taken that day.

  • they're kinda portraying wounded knee almost as an accident, like there was just a lot of confusion and chaos...but if i remember correctly...it didn't really happen that way. I think the soldiers just straight up ambushed them...

  • I hate that that happened in real life. It's sad that people were so prejudiced and selfish.

  • This part was horrible.... :(

  • i no when i first watched it i was about to cry. i was shocked
