@swiftninja1337 if it's going to be your only equipment, i'd go for the x-session because of the faders. If you are going to be controlling several things (probably with another controller aside) this is far better. More buttons and the ability to scroll through pages makes it more powerful.

nice set man! can you tell me plese if the knob leds matches with effect parameters when you change between the effects, for exemple, i have my effects pre-stored if i change an effect that has dry/wet 50% to another that has 80% will the knob leds match that change? thank you

@mellamanclandestino it should. however i couldnt make traktor to send midi out. in live i could so everytime something changes on software (live for example) it changes on hardware.

it should work like that in traktor, but for some reason midi out was not working in my first attempt. however i didnt research because it was no problem for me, but im sure it has to be fix-able

It works with send midi out. (knobs must have different point value in automap like 86 to work better)

@tylerfolio there is no master knob. what IS possible is to set any of the knobs to inc/dec and map them to any scroll-able function (like effect select or so).

yes, but I've tried that and it tends to make traktor unestable (the only times it crashed, was when i tried to use faders or knobs for list scrolling)

@DeLLaEnrico hardware: 8 knobs, 8 buttons. but with software you can extend these to 16 * 127 (16 channels, 127 CC messages). so you press a button and all your template changes on the fly :)

@danmos29 no, es facil. Despues de rendir finales (10 febrero) subo un video de nocturn + traktor pro.

Si lo necesitas solo para efectos esta perfecto, si lo queres como tu unico dispositivo para mezclar es mejor x-session.

es raro manejar efectos con endless encoders, es preferible con knobs absolutos, hasta que le agarres la mano a los encoders o uses fast encoder aceleration (bueno para girarlos rapidamenteaunque puede reducir un poco la precision cuando los giras lento). saludos

ahora mismo no tengo nada pero pienso comprarme un mixer de 2 canales, ya tengo el audio 2 (audio interface) dj y unos audifonos, entonces si me recomiendas el novation para usarlo solo para efectos en traktor? osea si son precisos?

me parece bien en realidad un poco la variacion de los estilos (obvio sin hacer cambios muy drasticos, no vas a pasar de minimal o techno a dance) pero le da un poco de vida al set y rompe un poco la monotonia...buen mix, las transiciones kedaron bastnte bien!!

tenes toda la razon. el ultimo tema lo hice asi para jugar. me gusta hacer intros u outros fuera de lugar a proposito. lo mismo en el mix de la numark pro sm, la intro esta fuera de lugar.

Aunque eso deberia ser en un set de unas horas, lo condense en solo 4 temas.

in that video i'll explain how to set it up for traktor (what you need to do both in traktor and in the automap) and how it works.

then i'll upload there the traktor files plus the automap set up (you need to do the classic tedious midi mapping, no "intelligent controller" there..)

yes, and i will stay by traktor till someones improve that bastard EQ3.

nowadays the music is highly limited and compressed, so even the tiniest touch to the signal makes it to clip and distort, resulting in bad quality (the kick loses punch).

just to put an example, i dropped a track which had peaks at 0db. then added an eq3 and BAMM, peaks at 5.5 db's !!!

then the effects in live are not intended for djs so it kinda sucks.

its a pitty coz i love Live, but i'll keep it for production only
