this video is from two years ago and we danced it at our Oirechtas and it was fine. I've noticed slight differences in parts when watching other schools though(timing of crossing, when to grab and drop hands and whatnot) so i think teachers just have slight variations of the dance. We don't do this dance anymore though.
This looks like a really accomplished team but the double Quarter chain, the gent is supposed to make a full turn with their partner, then pass onto the ladies on left-this team albeit accomplished and dancing very well is only half turning and then passing onto ladies on right.Although you may not be doing this dance dance any more-the particular move also appears in the High Cauled Cap. The reason I spotted this was I was studying for my TCRG exam
haha i honestly didn't know what you meant by your arm when i first got this comment...but i just realized that when we start, Fiona says "arm, Maddy". LOL this video is really old now...
thanks! :) yeah i completely agree with it being long...it's so repetitive too, it took us awhile to get used to which part came next because they were all so similar! all sides and chains
good job saint patricks day is so fun! don't ya hate trying to practice without your partner!?! you did it well I always screw it up when there is no-one there to grab! heh heh
thanks! haha yeah...it usually got very confusing when there were people missing, but it tended to happen more and more often and we somehow had to figure it out without a partner. What always screwed me up was when i had to go from girl's part to boy's part or vice-versa! Figures are tough...you have to be so in sync with each other, which is hard to do. :S
I LOOOOOVE THIS CEILI. my team is competing with it at nationals this year :D

Not sure, but get your teacher to check that you are doing the double quarter chain correctly - I don't think this is exactly as described in ARF
