Wind energy is fast growing in many places...In the United States, places like Texas, California, Iowa, Minnesota and Oklahoma are the states with more wind production. The conversion of wind energy into electricity is targeted to reach 20% in the future. Companies like Pacific Crest Transformers offer custom built energy-efficient transformers for wind energy farms.
Have had these wind turbines in CA for over 30 years..the promise was 40% of all energy would come from the wind. As of right now...only 2% does...speaks volums of how the truth really is about wind. It is not going to meet the energy of anything but personal home steads..and not a 1000 to 5000 subdivison... you have also the problem of many bird kills..and so on. And to be 8 times the size of a football field... you will see these ugly things for miles and miles..and for what? 2% return
So let's send our army to Iraq for oil, or men to die in a coal mine for mercury laden fuel. Demand gets higher, it has to get lower. Lovephatbooty, what is your solution do you drive a suv?
What about the offshore wind farms? There's quite a substancial amount of wind over lakes/oceans. But you're totally correct, screw renewable energy. Screw the environment. And yes, these wind turbines are painful to the naked eye, especially the ones situated in the ocean that one can barely see...
I agree that there are alot of downsides to wind farms. They even make people really sick from the sound waves. I think we should conserve energy and not make more things to make more energy

you have no idea what your talking about these ARE NOT the Ca. wind turbines!
thoses are from 30 years ago and the output is 1/10th plus they are not repaired or maintained as they should be.
