I propose this: Women are being pulled eight different, being given contradictory and often misleading information, and are not happy about it. Men are also largely unhappy because they never no where they stand due to the confusion, but they are less likely to "show weakness" and admit to their unhappiness.

The view of what is beautiful and what women should be has also gotten narrower and narrower. First off, I confess I have not reviewed these studies. However, I feel it is highly unlikely that they are credible. 1) Our society conditions men to "suck it up". Men who complain are often considered "whiners". Women who complain are often considered justified if not "courageous" and "speaking out". Also, radical feminism and it's effects on media, academia, etc.. have put out the message that 1/2 the population is out to get women...not very encouraging. (continued)

This nation and this culture have a histroy of denying women and men who do not fit the gender roles perscribed for them. Just like this country has racist roots it has sexist roots and both have been improved but not ended.
