Christianity as a whole is littered with Pagan Symbols: The Christmas Tree, The Wedding Ring, Easter Eggs, crosses, the fish symbol. The list goes on and on. Christ has taken possesstion of the whole world, including its symbolism.

By the way, the word Trinity is not in the bible. The only reason Christians believe it is becuase the Catholic Church said it was true at the Council of Nicea in 325 AD.

Well that's news to me... I thought God breathed the Scriptures through the inspiration of His Holy Spirit upon Jewish prophets, kings, and priests. Well, the best history I know of brings it to me through a mixture of early church faithfulness in copying it, the Roman religion translating into Latin, the martyrs daringly translating into German and English and the like, thanks to Erasmus... and so forth and so on. King James, Westcott-Hort, blah blah. I'm thankful that the TRUE ANSWER is that by God's Sovereign control, all types of people have been used to preserve His Word!

We are saved by Grace alone, not Faith alone. The written Gospel stands alone because the Catholic Church says it does. The only reason people believe the Bible is the Word of God is because the Catholic Church said so when Jesus founded it.

The Pope is not a fraud. He's a lot like Billy Graham or other preachers. Most Christians like the guy. He is just a man like any other. He just represents Christianity to the non-Christian world. And he does that rather well methinks.

Oh come on. Don't start this garbage. The Pope represents Christianity for the whole world. Not just for Catholics.

Plus, Jesus was using "hyperbole" in that scripture. If he weren't, than I wouldn't be able to have the title "Master of Arts" after completing my graduate degree.

Similarly, when wouldn't be able to use the term "Doctor," because the derivative of that term is "Father."

Thirdly,I wouldn't be able to refer to my own father as "My Father is John," in conversation.

Jesus is referring to the use of the title "Father" with the meaning of the Chief of the Spirits, the generator of life. There is only One Holy Father, and He never sleeps or needs to deceive anyone to get and retain power. The Roman pontiff on the other hand, is a usurper and a fraud. Catholics are sometimes really nice and religious people, but the gospel stands as it's own defense. Correct. The Pope's title "Vicar of Christ" MEANS literally that he is the substitute for Christ and hence the catholic belief is that nobody can be saved outside of the Roman church.
