  • cool!

  • sounds a lot different to the Class 158s I've been on (they were East Midlands Trains)

  • id complain to the depot for that nosie still if a train gets there its fine (i supose)

  • Has it turned into a class 358?

  • what is the punishment for leaving debris on the tracks ?

  • ive never seen alphaline, only began travelling on the rails november 08, did First Great western replace alphaline or something?

  • alphaline was a brand used by Wales and West, which in turn became Wales and Border and Wessex Trains when the franchise was split because of the differing end dates

  • oh ok, thanks, wikipedia might help me out a little more here! Haha cheers

  • @BrambleH Yes exactly that... Before Alphaline they were Regional Railways.

  • bristol?

  • i miss the alphaline and tpe 158s. they used to regularly go to paignton 5*

  • dont first great western have the 158 now

  • It wants to be a 323 !

  • blimey thats noisy lol

  • Ok Thank You

  • No Its A DMU

  • Yes but the title is a joke as it sounds more like an EMU at the start.

  • excellent video

    5*****

  • Think its the brakes releasing too slowly on the leading car, you'll notice the second through fourth cars don't squeal so its not the flanges. Either that or just a rubbing brake, tho the sounds disappears so its probably just releasing slow.

  • Yeah its the brakes releasing too slowly !

  • Lol, she's just crying out for a pantograph and overhead cables!

  • 158s are dmus

  • um yes correct you are.

  • lol

  • Sounds like the flanges to me - that road looked fairly tightly curved. As for maintenance? I understand that due to the complexity of the leasing and sub-leasing arrangements on the FGW 158s that no bugger can work out who is responsible for them, and who should get billed, so all that gets done is enough to make sure that they don't blow up or fall to bits! You should travel on one of SWT's refurbs - the difference is just staggering!

  • Yep, SWT know how to run trains (kinda), FGW couldn't organise a gang-bang in a brothel!

  • So damn true, the SWT have so much experience with Super Sprinters, they look after them very well at Salisbury. And Jesus the thrash on them is getting close to an Arriva 150 thrash!

    Good Vid!

    ...DD

  • Wow! makes a 158 seem really exciting, that was hellfire got to admit. Good piece of filming that! I like that 5*

  • Really not hard to see why FGW 158s are cancelled so often is it?

  • You haven't heard First Scotrail 158s. I don't think it has yet occured to First Group that you need to maintenance them every so often,

  • This applies not just to trains!!

That second 158 is one that used to be up here, and would often work the middlesbrough route. bit cramped inside!

  • I think thats either flange squeal or a draging brake - it seems to cure itself after a little bit

  • Ouch! Sounds like she needs some TLC.

  • Thats hellfire \m/ :D

  • When was that, lol?

  • A few months back but can you guess where?

  • Chepstow, no, where is that place, ooo, somewhere in Scotland? O how could I forget, NEWPORT

  • that screetchin is pretty nasty actully - I had vol. up full!

  • loll

  • lmao, bit cunfused bless!

  • emu?

  • Electric multiple unit
