This is wrong on so many levels no questions were asked, back of uniform not inspected and the commander and the guy inspecting are terrible he has no military bearing he's fidgety also why did the first squad leader in the 3rd row move up aren't the other cadets supposed to allign to him?
I have to agree with you on most of these things you've stated. But the AFJROTC is not known for being a tough JROTC...obviously as seen in this video. They just strive for excellent drill.
I'm supposed to be inspecting next week and I'm looking forward to giving people terrible scores. Always fidgeting, everything.
@584610 First off you are wrong on so many levels. This is suppose to be a deminstration Im taking it. Also to inspect the back of the uniform you can do that as you are walking, if you look he does that as he walks. As far as the 3rd element leader moving up, you are suppose to be 3 paces away from the element in front of you, so if the commander takes her 3 steps and you are off of that mark, you need to be moved up. The person inspecting doesnt need to be at attention the entire time....
The "commander" has absolutely abysmal military bearing. Arms not pinned, strolling around rather than snappy movements, terrible salute, incorrect facing maneuvers. Embarrassing to us retired military personnel!!
While this video is the best I've seen on YT so far, it seems to be missing a few things for those who have never done an ORI before, like what happens before they get there (taller tapping, count off, parade rest) or even the "cadet 3, one step forward." It's great for review, but not for those who don't know yet.
Hah, so true. I leave in 6 hours for Maxwell 2, and I at least know for sure I can do an O.R.I. perfectly. Some (k) knowledge on the other hand... I'll be memorizing on the plane trip :)
Why didn't you show the inspecting party inspecting the back of the elements?
