i downloadd Belkin advisor...it said i had 4 slots for ram...well, when i opened my tower i only had 2 slots. so please make sure to LOOK. I replaced the 2 DD with 2X 1 gb ram

sometime it happens and u have to push them but be sure not to force them too much. just push and be sure that the ram fits and it isn't unnecessarily forced to stay in place

just open the pc and take out the ram then go to a electronics shop and ask them and if needed tell them what pc u have EX: acer aspire 5201 . that's what i did to be sure i didn't screw up

I've took the RAM out of my old PC and (tried to) put it into my newer one (which is also quite old) but it doesn't really fit. The little cut out near the centre of the RAM card doesn't align with the RAM slot. I can get it in, but it doesn't fit properly, one side of the RAM fits well, but the other (due to the cut out of the actual RAM not fitting the notch in the slot) has to be locked in using the lower cut out at the side. Basically my RAM's wonky. Will this work/break the RAM? Thanks

this will break you're computer. THE RAM HAS TO FIT PERFECTLY, like a glove. once u put it into place u have to check to see if it strains or if it's folded a little and if it is then it doesn't work.

I just installed my 8 GB ram on my WIN7 computer, here's the results.

Booting up isn't any different but using the internet has significantly speeded up, I am about to test TF2.

@thomas1999 if it still runs slow (internet games)it most likely to be ur video/graphics card it could be ur ping (internet strenght this is effected where ur router is (if wireless)and depending where you are located for the right service) or your power suply is too small.

@Prototype12321 Well... First and foremost you should check how much RAM your mobo can handle. Second thing is that it is better not to mix different RAMs, try to stick to the same label. Also, don't screw up on the speeds, CAS, timings and voltage.
