  • DEMONOCRACY!!!!

  • Fuck yes!

  • I'm guessing you removed the high C and instead moved each of the other strings down one, so you have your B where the E would be? Is that good for playing with?? I currently own a 5 string and my B is fairly floppy and distorts when I plug it into my computer or amp...

  • Wow nice........

  • When does Jobs new album release??

  • You make that look so easy

  • Sick playing, simply osom

120 at B and dont get floppy? O_O how do you got it?

  • @AlexFTWbass thanks! Yeah the low B is all good at .120 I used to get .135's or sometimes .140's but I really don't think they sound better.

  • Hey man when will you guys post some new song with job!!!?????

Still waiting for that brutal new album. I think you blow away any bass player job ever had. I mean brent seemeed to be cool but I mean I didnt hear him on ruination but I already know what you are capable of since I am a huge cephalic fan! And btw did you leave cephalic???!!!:o

  • @gorgardmw222 soon.... Thanks a lot man I appreciate it. Did not leave Cephalic, we're just not very busy because our drummer had a baby girl and wanted to slow down with touring

  • @Bassfordays wait. your about to record a new album with jfac? or am i reading gorgardmw222's comment wrong?

  • @mclouds37 Actually it's already done! Did an EP with them in February, and we finished recording a full length in October. It's pretty damn sick. The bass tone/level is probably my favorite I've ever had

  • @Bassfordays when will it coming out? i cant wait! so many good CD's this year.

  • @mclouds37 early april I believe

  • @kerajel Ill be out with Job quite a bit next year. where u at ?

  • @Bassfordays Moscow!

  • @omfgmikeithurts um I been messing with it for about 6 years or so. its all about relaxing. when youre tense it doesnt work, you gotta find that sweet spot where your hand position is relatively stable but just the right amount of meat on your thumb is flexible

  • @HeavyMetalen666 thanks dude. Im still learning myself!

  • @Metalized123 its a warrior. sweet bass, but im really digging my warwicks right now

  • I was gonna comment your other video, but I forgot.

Anyway, how long did it take you to perfect your double thumb technique?

I want to do it as well as youses, but my hitchhiker's thumb hasn't come in the mail yet.

  • I don't play bass but fuck that is one hell of a technique you've got there.

    Great!

  • world tour coming soon I hope?

  • What bass is that? it sound sick! :D

  • How i wiiish, how i wish you were heeer :D:D: no but, just best :))))) But Ive said that alot of times :P

You have to comes to, Oberfischbach in Freudenberg (Germany) :D:D in our little village with 500 people :D, that would be Great ;-P

  • @johanneskray20121997 that would be sweet

  • @Bassfordays what strings do you use?

  • @burrito1331 I use either SIT rockbright stainless's with a custom set of .120, .100, .80, .60, 40 or D'addario ProSteels.

  • @Bassfordays what tuning would that correspond to Nick? Im trying to play in this kind of style (obviously I have a few lifetimes of practice still to go :D) but I think i might be using a way higher tension than suitable for it.

  • @EaterOfBirds I like to roll with about .05 lighter than your average B standard set.Keep in mind what your scale length is on your bass, your strings might be fine gauge-wise but you might be getting a long-set when you need extra-long, etc. That stuff affects tension too. Also- get that action nice and low without buzzing of course-

  • @Bassfordays Cheers man :)

  • Hell yeah 10,000 views! Let's add a 0.

  • Amazing.... just incredible.

  • @bigglesthefox cheers man!

  • isss.....is there a puppet in the background at the beginning??

  • @metalmike04 haha. what?

  • @Bassfordays 1st of all dang that was a fast reply, and 2nd what is that thing i see in the bottom left corner thats moving of the video,on top of the white wall part?

  • @metalmike04 oh ha I think thats just my head's reflection. does look kind of creepy

  • @Bassfordays oh my god haha that expliains that haha, thanks man great video btw, good to finally some cephalic shit, love you guys

  • looks like he´s missing a string!

  • @diosplaga Yes.

  • looks fuckin hard to play great job

  • @JMS06723 Hey I appreciate it man! Cheers-

  • Astonishingly excellent! Love your work, thank you!

  • @Metaalhond Thanks a lot man!

  • what is that bass guitar?

  • @HandOfBlood696 It's a warrior. Still got it, but I got a couple killer Warwick's I'm rocking now.

  • what is tht bass?

  • The way the music is composed and your style of playing all at once is why I wanna be you when I grow up.

  • @NubbletClaypool Right on man! That's a little too big of a complement though. Integrate what you like, but make it your own, and be sure to be you instead. Yar!

  • @Bassfordays It was mostly just me admiring how well your style of playing fits with the music your band makes. If I were to ever find a band to join I would wanna do things like slapping, and double thump but most Metal bands wouldn't allow it. It's great how yours all works out :D

  • @NubbletClaypool I gotcha for sure. Yeah I think its about working it in "tastefully". It is very difficult to find Death Metal/Metal bands that are cool with such techniques cause you can definitely "blow it" and have it sound cheesy as shit. Guess it depends on the individual band. Start your own band. Then you can have the bass do whatever the funk you want!

  • @Bassfordays Well that would work, but currently in this part of Florida, the thing musicians wanna play is Death-Core and I'm no fan of that and none of them around here are of with experimenting so it wouldn't be worth it yet. I'm a look-out for better musicians to be in a band with though.

  • @NubbletClaypool Start writing!

  • "Endless Cycle of Violence Bass"-violence bass???

  • @Tetramor4 ha

  • The string is in a better place now! though if I was the string I would have lived the happiest life ever.

  • @MrRobsworld6 hahahah

  • Excellent man - more of these!!

  • @BoneMachineMUC Will do!

  • I'm gonna watch this forever!

  • @NubbletClaypool That's a long time dude. Thanks though!

  • This video made me listen to the album! Excellent work! \m/

But I think your 6th string snapped off and accidentally hit the dislike button! :D

  • @technoggin Thanks a ton man! By far the best comment on the missing string too !

  • @Bassfordays

    \m/~_^\m/

  • @technoggin yes!

  • Awesome man... you're a exellent bass player :D

  • @infiniteDeathmetal Thanks a lot man! Appreciate it!

  • Wiiiiicked... One string missing though. What size are those strings?

  • @CabraPhobos .120, .100, .80, .60, .40. Cheers!

  • @Bassfordays Nice. I thought they would be heavier though

  • How are you so funky and brutal at the same time?

  • @Blastrebation Thanks man. Hard to make funk work in metal without being Goofy, but I can't pick up a bass and not want to funk it somehow. Ever heard Robert Trujillo's stuff on Infectious Grooves? Check oot Violent and Funky. Sweet shiz for sure.

  • this is fucking awesome! Seen Cephalic about 5 times and i always enjoyed your playing.

  • @CannibalisticZombie dude you are a beast. I have watched all of your videos.

  • @CannibalisticZombie Thanks man!!

  • @CannibalisticZombie Hell yeah. I've watched some of your vids. You shred big time brotha.

  • Is there a tab for this?

  • @FREESHADY Haven't tabbed this out yet man. Might get to it.

  • @Bassfordays

That is great :D. You really should because this is great :D. Or atleast make a video for us beginners explaining the theory behind it and the pregression and stuff. You fucking rock btw

  • @FREESHADY I'm planning on posting some how-to shiz on here for sure. In the meantime I do skype lessons if you're interested

  • @Bassfordays Really great playing, man. Can i ask you why did you lose the sixth string?

  • @therox68 Thanks man! Nah.

  • @FREESHADY There's a tab on GP it's on 6 string and totally wrong I'm fixing it. inbox me your email.

  • @websterx9 right arm!

  • Comment removed

  • @Bassfordays huh? xD

  • Sweet dude. Thats pretty amazing. But was wondering - i saw Cephalic carnage live a few weeks back. But you werent the bassist. Maybe you got haircut? Anyhow. Awesome playing, subscribed!

  • @Dane1Boefel Thanks a lot man! Yeah that was me, I just got a haircut and shaved. Heeeyaaarrrrr

  • @Bassfordays Sweet. Wicked show you did on the rock. Neck was wrecked after wards. Rock on!

  • @Dane1Boefel Just playin with ya man. Yeah that was Jawsh, cephalic's old bassist. He was filling in for me

  • @Bassfordays Really not sure what to believe now haha

  • Make some more videos, but in them could you turn just a bit so we can see your left hand?

  • @falconer6439 yes

  • Hrm. Any reason for having only 5 strings on that bass?

Also, I must say that I play drums but your playing is fucking great, had no idea there was this much cool shit in the average Cephalic song.

  • @Steve128967 Thanks man! Yeah there's some cool basswork underneath all that guitar

  • Great work, congratulations !

  • @13hoursago Thank you man!

  • Hey Nick, any suggestions/advice on how to get a tone like that?

  • @Tanvir378 Hmm... I would say get a walnut body, maple neck, and an ebony fretboard, some premium pickups and you should be good to go.

  • What happened to your string friend?

  • @Klasharx3x Took it off. We had an argument

  • @Bassfordays Thats how my guitar felt these days,

My 6string was only with 5 strings, played it as usual oO.

  • @camon666 Yeah if only I could transpose it could be fun to do on a 4?

  • Poor missing string!

  • @MrRobsworld6 Nah it's all good.

  • @shellslug1 its a warrior but I believe he just got endorced by warwick.

  • what fucking bass is that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • one string missing?

  • I like it. a lot!

  • @jonvukk Thanks. A lot!

  • your bass should be up like this in the mix!

  • @vinbasshred THAT would be sick. I'd probably have to start my own band and be all Trent Reznor with it for that to happen.

  • what tuning u use bro?

  • @ANATOMYbandpage BEADG and sometimes Y

  • are you wasting my air, Y are you still here.... fucking love that song

  • I just love the tone!

  • @Tanvir378 Thanks man!

  • @Tanvir378 Thanks man!

  • @Tanvir378 Thanks man!

  • Very nice!

  • @YklausK Thanks!

  • @YklausK Thanks!

  • @YklausK Thanks!

  • nick now plays in JFAC

  • great!

  • @BLACK3737 thanks man!

  • Dude you´r fucking amazing !! btw what tuning is that??

  • dude, awesome but tell me whats goin on with your bass haha

  • @Brutalators Tuning peg broke off.

  • You make me want too quit playing :P... REALLY good man :)

  • @SwedishPolarBear No way man ! Want you to keep playing!

  • wait wait wait...you are the ACTUAL bassist :D i thought this was a cover!

  • @sthxdnn1 I covered myself. ha!

  • Perfect cover man thats amazing! Cheers

  • Found you!

  • BTW, Bassfordays, why do you have your six string set up with only five strings? Or am I missing something?

  • @Necromal he told me he uses the tuning F# B E A D G. in all the live pictures there's six strings on it but all the studio footage it has the low F# removed. maybe he doesnt use it at all in the studio. the guitarists play in b standard but also in drop a so he probably just switches tunings on recordings but uses the lower string live so he doesnt have to detune his bass or switch instruments.

  • OhhhThanks!!! Very very great!! If you will upload other videos I very enjoy it!!

  • are you using your pinky too?

  • did you learn this by ear?

  • @rocketman987654321 He wrote it.

  • @Necromal hmm now i feel dumb.

  • @rocketman987654321 It's ok. He makes us all feel dumb.

  • dudeeee!!! I don't know a shit about bass cuz Im a drummer... but you're awesome man! great job.

  • wow look at those fingers fly during the guitar harmonic lead riff. it's incredible how precise.

  • Nice bass, Ibanez?

You guys should come back to Tennessee :)

  • @Gravatrax101 It's actually a Warrior. Soon to be retired. ha

  • Nice bass, Ibanez?

  • Great video! You're Nick Schendzielos, their new bassist, aren't you? In which case, I saw you with them and Job for a Cowboy on May 9th; it was the best concert I've ever attended, and I go to a lot of concerts. The performance was top-notch, and I was quite surprised that you, Al Glassman, and Jon Rice didn't mind talking with me for a little bit.

Anyway, keep up the excellent work, dude!

  • @IronreaverVII Hell yeah man thanks a lot! Appreciate the kind words. Al and Jon are killer people. Cheers man!

  • I thought I played it right... heh...

Amazing, dude, btw, is that a Warrior Bass? Like Adam Nitti's one?

  • @BassGrindcore Yeah almost exactly like Adams. 'cept I bet his is quite a bit nicer on the quality control aspect.

  • Awesome playing... my drummer turned me on to your stuff. A bit like Mr Bungle without the polkas...not that I' dissin polkas. Had a bus pull in the studio once, young BYU looking kids and two old guys. While tracking, the old guy in the control room looks at his watch and in about four measures hits the talk back and says to the drummer (no click for polkas) " you're at 117.5, get that to 118.. " referring to BPM.

  • @ajawam Thanks man! Always dug Patton's stuff. All the Cephalic dudes are big bungle fans. Damn Wish I was that accurate with the click!

  • Really great playing man, will you be putting the bass parts up for Ohwurm off the new album? Love the band by the way, cheers for the post!

  • @pitnufer Yeah man I think I'll do Ohrwurm next. Seems to be the one most folks are axing fur. Thanks brother!

  • Now THAT is some SICK tone, and i loved the change in dynamics during that slower section! You my friend, have a very well disciplined playing style.

  • Fantastic playing!!!

  • @SacramentalBass Thanks man!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Wow, you're far better than given credit for. Great style ya got

  • @JT666KILL Thanks a lot man. I appreciate it!

  • I love your style, it's really creative and really inspiring! can't wait for you guys to come to dallas again so I can see you for the third time

  • @nutricous Did you make it to the Dallas show?

  • @Bassfordays Yeah it was right after my 21st, had one of the best beers of my life at that show! thanks for the kick ass time

  • Hahaha,where's your 6th string?:D

  • @probassistNOT lost it. ha.

  • Fuck yeah, work them fingers!

  • @Jarrak thanks dude.

  • hey nick what nordys are you using? there pretty beefy gonna guess fat stacks? i got some big singles im throwing in a custom i got . are you running em passive?

  • @PAPPISSGRIND actually those are the big singles (passive) Have you ever checked out Q-tuners?

  • @Bassfordays

yes i have, im not a fan of running passive pups but if i did it would be q tuners hands down their ballsy and super loud. do you check out talkbass.com at all? thats where i go when i want to get some! is your warrior curly bubinga?

  • @PAPPISSGRIND Really want to check out some q-tuners with me bass. still looking for the perfect tizone you know. I'm on talkbass but haven't forked out the 20 bones to make it worthwhile. Might have to do that soon.

    Oh and it's quilted bubinga.
