Yeah Astro Wars is by far the best electronic Grandstand game of the whole decade of the 80's, I still love to play it as much now as I did back in the day. You'll probably find one very easily on eBay, the one i'm playing on in this video was purchased from there, eBay doesn't usually let you down - it's ace :-D Hope you find one, let me know if you do. By the way, there's 2 versions, the one with the red Astro Wars logo is an earlier model than mine here & is more sought after. Cheers!
Totally awesome post from Ironlord2015. Great memories of this at christmas from the 80s. Especially those tunes and I had forgotten that there was a docking phase! I can hear Madness and Flying Pickets on in the background in my memory whilst playing this game.!! Fantastic post. Thanks again.
Much appreciated mate. Glad you enjoyed the vid, and that it stirs up some great memories from childhood etc. It does exactly the same for me, wish I could go back there and re-live it to be honest, things were FAR better back then let's face it. Along with Action Man (original and much HARDER eagle eyed version, not the modern puffy version lol), and Lego, and my trusty Commodore 64's, Amiga's etc etc, the mighty Astro Wars is up there with the best. Cheers :-D
thank god for ebay i too had one in the 80's as a young boy god knows what happened to it. just managed to buy one off e bay such treasured memories especially the tunes it plays happy blasting guys.
Cheers for your comment fella ;) It's good to know there's others out there that are as passionate as me about the mighty Astro Wars...I will NEVER part with it again that's for sure. And, as the years roll on, and it becomes even more scarce, it will only soar in value, adding to my proudness in owning my very own :-D All hail eBay, and all hail the mighty Astro Wars :-D
Reaquired one of these lately from ebay. I got one for my main xmas present circa 81 82 and played it to completion and then more. Great memories of this great game. Now i have one it will be death do us part.
I had it as a kid in the 80's too, but ended up swapping it with a mate for some other daft toy, which I later regretted. So I did the same as you & found a superb condition boxed one on good old eBay a few years back. And i'm the same, I won't part with it again as it holds treasured memories for me. It was fantastic to play back then, and still is now. A true classic. Glad you enjoyed the video mate. Cheers! :)
