My sister has a mixed dog with obvious pitbull blood and she is a lap puppy. Her name is Aurora and every time i go over to her house she runs and jumps on me. My brother-in-law and i were practicing fighting moves together once and she went NUTS she jumped and growled and barked at Dustin and when we both stopped she went back in the house. I sat down on the couch and she wouldn't let me out of her sight for the rest of the time, even now 2 years later. I love animals, and always will.

I feel for you. I am a foster mom for Pit Bulls. What I would love is to have backyard breeders banned so that Pit Bulls are breed the way they were meant to be so people can see that they are " The Nanny Dog". Not all backyard breeders are bad but unfortunatley we need to stop it in order to not have a over population and rescue the ones we have first and then regulate it.

There is no such thing as a bad pitbull....only bad owners. Pitbulls are one of the best dogs out there....it breaks my heart that people think of them as mean when they aren't anything but loving animals. I know alot of people that are far worse than any pitbull I've ever met.

Just want to say THANK YOU, Stories like yours never make it to the media, people want to hear bad news, not good news. Just read an article about a pit killing a child...the guy was in a motorcycle gang and admitted to training his dogs to kill, yet the whole article is about how bad pits are...HELLO....Murderous violent person creates murderous violent dog.....PEOPLE are the problem, not guns, dogs, motorcycles, fireworks or what ever.....just stupid people! They want my pit? Over my dead body

pitbull are miss understood but like most humans when they see a frightening animal species the choose to eradicate them but that is the cowards way people who see past their bad reputation in return get a loyal best friend that would lay down its life for its owner

They were like a loving and caring couple. They would play together, they would sleep together. She was sick for the last year and a cat would just run to her if she started coughing. It was a couple we need to learn from. My daughter is 9 months old and she loves dog she gets sooooo excited when she sees dogs. I wish I had one. One day I will and 99% it will be Pitbull.

I love Pit Bulls more than I can even describe.
They are the most loving, sweet, loyal, silly dogs there are.
I myself have seen that photo of the Denver Pit Bulls.. at first I thought it was fake, but once I realized it wasn't, I cried and cried and cried. I don't understand why anyone would do such a thing to ANY animal.
Something needs to be done about this stupid fuckin' BSL bullshit.

That was beautiful! I am so sorry to hear about Lucy's death. I firmly believe on blaming the deed not the breed. but to be honest with you like 3% of me was wary of them. But now...... And its a shame that people look blindly to animal abuse and don't realize what wonderful creatures they are.

I had tears in my eyes while you recalled your story. These dogs have loyalty that goes above and beyond, and are just lovebugs. People make "bad" dogs of any breed into what they are, and the dogs are STILL not the real monsters- it's the people. One day I hope these dogs will be seen once again in the bright light they deserve to be held in.

Thanks guys for your support! My entire life has been spent with the beautiful animals. Iv been doing a bunch of research and signing every petition i can find to help save our bestfriends, cuddlebuddies and hero's. Please do the same! They need us now more than ever. Your story is amazing! I feel for you big time. Use her loyalty, passion, and love to make you a better person. Every time you feel you against the wall, think of her bravery, selfless decision making, and utter sacrifice to reassure your self "someone" really and always loved you, and would do what she did twice if she had to.
