  • I dropped the exh, driveshaft, trans, cut the old wiring harness on this stock TT. What all else do i gotta disconnect before hitting the engine mounts?

  • my guy im tryin lift my 300zx n/a engine im just not sure were the mounts are located im just tryin make sure.... im doing it myself i already have the tt engine and trans on hold wit me i just started about a day ago i took off the trans just need help taking off the engine and lifting it

  • It comes out with the tranny, piece of cake I can do it by myself in around 3 hr's with out breakin a sweat in a cramped shop

  • how did you hook your engine to the hoist? chain around the motor?

  • @PPKLU bolt it to the intake manifold

  • ok now put a hemi in and put turbos on it

  • it would oversteer

  • Is it a difficult job to remove a Z32 engine? How long does it take the first time approx?

  • its easy to pull a Z32's engine out.

you just have to have the right tools and equipment.

takes me about 2 hours at my shop.

the hardest part is the tranny and exhaust than anything else.

  • if you knows the car and go through everything smoothly people can do it in 6 hours.

but it looks like these guys did it in 2, not sure how they did it o.0

  • I do it in less then 1 1/2hr cuz i pull it out with the tranny :)

  • Do you have to remove the tranny to pull the engine. Im pulling mine in about a week to swap the turbos wiring harness test pipes and so on. the service manual shows if you connect the hoist right it tilts the engine back and the tranny comes straight up. Would it be easier if i dropped the trany though.

  • It makes it much easier, and you cant lift the motor from the upper intake bolts with the transmission attached because it weighs too much. But if you have the Nissan bolt on lift points (which bolt onto the sides of the motor not the upper intake) it could be technically be done. But if you have the means to pull the transmission I would just go ahead and remove it.

  • OK i decided to remove the tranny already got my new turbos and wiring harness in and also do you have to remove the ac power steering alternator starter and all the belt driven things pretty much or can you leave all that on there and were do i bolt the load leveler to on the motor im a lil unsure bout that.

  • do you have to pull the motor to swap the turbos? I have to replace mine. any advice would be much appreciated!

  • Yes.

  • i have never heard of anyone who has ever pulled the engine with the tranny still together.

it is impossible since there isnt enough room for the engine to go forward to clear the tranny from the chassy.

the 240SX people have messed with me about that before since they can pull the whole thing out at once.

i believe that pulling the engine and tranny seperate is totally worth the extra power

  • @Foxy300ZX haha your wrong dude, i just pulled my 300zx motor last night with the tranny. all in once piece.

  • HOLY FUCK! THATS WASNT 38 SEC, IT WAS MORE LIKE 28 SEC! Man you guys are FAST!!! =P Much PROPS! GOOD job!

  • it take me a week

  • The fact we had a lift and my buddy is a mechanic prob. helped a little, But a week isn't bad for driveway job.

  • Wheel is backwards

  • Thank you wheel police...lol

  • wow a 38sec motor pull i wish i was super man

  • That's fast....
