  • Whats stopping me from using solid core copper wire as the connections ? also why have the tabbing wire run the entire length of the silver strip on the front wouldn't it be more economical to use the bare minimum when connecting the cells i.e. from just the bottom to the just the top of the next cell rather than run it trough the entire length of the first cell and then the second cell.

  • @somud1 You can use solid core copper wire but it is very thick. Thick wires will interfere with the encapsulation.

    Short wires is not desirable to use as current flowing through the chain of elements up to 3 amps. Flowing through the thin wires deposited on the surface of cells, the current will heat them. It also leads to loss of power.
