If you're ever in Voe be sure to look for a quaint little sailboat named the Tern. She sits at anchor there in the voe, and was built by my father's brother, Lex. It's a replica of a Norwegian life saving boat. It took him 10 years building it in one of the old family wool warehouses. He then needed to remove the side wall to get the boat out! The Tern adds to the picturesque quality and character of Voe and tells a tale of harsh life at sea.
Thanks very much Shavonne. Both tunes were composed by the late Ronnie Cooper from Lerwick who was a very popular accordionist & pianist. I knew Ronnie personally as well. Words were put to them I think by Ian Duncan, though don't quote me on this. I did a google but came up a blank. I'll ask a couple of Shetland friends for you and see what I can come up with. If I'm unseccessful, you could have a look in the library possibly ?
Gorgeous tunes from a beautiful peaceful island with a highly intelligent , respectable, corteous, honourable, population. Wonderfully played by a clown LOL LOL LOL
THIS IS FANTASTIC, YOU PLAY BEAUTIFULLY. YOUR VIDEO IS VERY WELL DONE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING.

You played them beautifully - my favourite fiddle songs are Rona's Voe and Sunset Over Foula. Do you know the words to Rona's Voe?

Superb playing, Graham, Shona says it all. The third tune is "Isles o' Gletness" by J.T.Barclay

Thanks Chris & also for the info on the last tunes composer. I always knew the name, not who wrote it.

I thought you knew the name by the pictures of Gletness.
