  • e-Firestorm sounds more solid

  • In a competition between your firestorm and a nitro car you will quickly see that electric cars are the best.

  • did the 4600 sidewinder combo ever overheat on 3s?

  • holy crap those things are fast and brutal

  • nice video i just got the sidewinder 5700 for my slash

  • at 0:20 the sound! nice

  • the firestorm will kick its ass

  • This video is much better than the official videos from the manufacturer's with generic music and angles changing so quickly that you can't tell whats going on.

  • Is there a downside to lipo?

  • 1 downside. u can NOT run them to empty. Once they reach about 6ish volts per cell you have to recharge. most new speed controllers have a voltage cut-off for lipos. If u run them past that line, then ur lipo will not come back no matter how many times u recharge it. read the manual.

  • 4:16 gone

  • you cant not jump

  • and you can´t speak english!

  • nice video ims post a video response of my brushless slash wont be as good as this video haha

  • LOL Poor spur gears :'(

  • have you hade any bearing go on your slash at any time

  • i like, i also like the sand dunes wish i had some.... im biulding 1/10 losi desert truck with brushless.... should be pretty sick, NICE VID!

  • those cars tore it upppp!!!

  • ya they were sick

  • Which slash set-up did you like better sidewinder 4600 or velineon 3500? Interested in one of the 2 so just curious? Thanks

  • whats better a hpi firestorm or a traxxxas rustler

  • yes

  • i'd give the nod to the firestorm. i own a rustler and it leaves a bit to be desired in the handling department. the firestorm is almost, if not just as tough as the rustler, but can be competitive on the track out of the box.

  • What system do you like the most out of the 3 brushless combos?

    Great Video

    Thanks, Cody

  • firestorm is way better than the slash and better looking

  • sorry nope. my vxl slash can beat the kid down the streets firestorm flux....same battery too lol

  • 7:44 little help? lol

  • i want ot buy a e firestorm, was this one all stock? or was it upgraded with brushless motor?

  • which should i get traxxas slash or hpi e firestorm 10T

  • what battery was the slash running

  • I can't remember exactly, but I'm guessing it was a Zippy 11.1V with 4000 or 5000mah capacity.

  • why is nitro crossed out in your picture?

  • It's because I'm all electrics guy :)

  • oh cool, energy officiant,

i bought a nitro gas powered one and an electric traxxas slash and i ride the electric 1 more , its just funner,

i can afford the nitro gas but i just dont ride it

  • @finbilly how are those zippy lipo's holding up I bought a couple turnigys and so far so good.

  • 5/5 for your vid. That's a great place you found to play right there. Brushless is already the next big thing. Very entertaining. Me want.

    B-)

  • Awesome I have an e-firestorm with a

    castle sidewinder 4600 with a 3600

    batt from hpi.Anyways awesome video.

  • Is the Firestorm at 4:00 min in 2s or 3s??

  • It's running on 2S there, 3S goes in at 8:20

  • whats faster stock the slash or e firestorm

  • I think, the Firestorm is faster ;)

The chassi from the slash and the firestorm is nearly the same..

  • that (slash) hauls nuts my man haha good work

  • will a brushless burn up in the sand

  • Could someone tell me witch brushless sytem is better the mamba sidewinder or the vxl system. Im gonna go brushless with my slash but dont know what to get. Thought about the mamba max but it cost to much.

  • i remeber when i didnt even have my slash and i used to watch this vid about every day.. still one badass run.. this vid may just be why i bought my slash.

  • nice video!

so, in your opinion, whit on the most resistent truck? the hpi e-firestom or traxxas rustler? and what upgrades did do in e-firestorm beyond the motor and esc?

    tanks..

  • They're both quite durable trucks, can't really put one on top of another.

Firestorm is pretty much stock, only modification is that it has Rustler's slipper to get more gearing options.

  • i hear a baja but wher is it?

  • There's no baja, but a motox track nearby :)

  • You mentioned that you've got serious overheating problems with your 4600. I think that's because 83/19 is geared incredibly high for that motor; Castle recommends a 90t spur and 14-19t pinion. If you tried gearing down to 90/16 or so, I think you'd run a lot cooler. And you said yourself it's faster than it needs to be, so you're not really losing anything in the process.

    Otherwise, fantastic video!

  • Electric is good for only 1 thing and thats rock crawling. i gurantee my traxxas revo 2.5 could out jump outrun and outlast any electric car out there without tuning it. I know this because i've been through 3 electric cars from traxxas. This is why i have a Revo. :)

  • You must mean your Revo can outrun etc. any electric car You have had/driven.

  • obciously the cars you have had are not brushless

The world RC record is held by electric and nitro is about 50 mph behind.

  • Alright well lets take the gearing ratio out of that electric car an put it in a 3.3 nitro 4 tec. ;)

  • Seems some one has never seen brushless rc's with a 3S lipo.... check out my vids for some speed runs.

  • ur mad my friend brushless is much faster and maintenence free i have a HPI e-firestorm flux running 5700 mamba 23 tooth pinion on a lrp 5300 28c lipo it does 67mph gps but out accelarates EVERYTHING brushless is the way forward

  • I admit electric does out accelerate everything but they are not faster than a gas car. If you dont believe me then type in 200 mph rc car in your search bar. ;)

  • you could easily gear a brushless motor to go faster than gas, but who wants to drive a car thats going to be a quarter of a mile away in a couple of seconds, low end torque is where it's at

  • Well that isn't rc it is cable big difference because it has a long time to rev up and by the way fastest RC is electric officially so nitro can fucking suck it

Not that nitro sucks just it isn't best at anything but is awesome at noise and smell

  • At the moment maby but if someone will take the time to tune and re-gear a gas truck i promise it would be faster. But lets see how long that electric truck runs its top speed b4 its battery runs out. XD

  • probably about 30-45 and that's w/o damaging the motor where as a nitro would nitro burn strong and don't last long

  • right now im more of a electric person but when someond fiugures out how to make a tiny two stroke

  • on the firestorm is that the sensord or senserless motor (soz if spelt worng)

  • sensorless 5700kv

  • omg!!! where is that place, that looks like the best place to have a good time, where is that at!!!!!

  • Siilinjärvi, Finland - check Statistics & Data above. :)

  • Hey which is better? THe firestorm or the slash? I am maybe gonna get one of those. And yeah Broom0908. Electric is better than nitro. But you can get faster on nitro but electric is better.

  • Well, I have a Slash and it is fantastic. Real fun truck for racing and messing around, I've run it in the snow by me a few times too, its very fun. And yes, electric is better. Easier to maintain, faster acceleration, and cheaper.

  • electric is so mutch better than nitro

  • @broom0908 i know nitro sucks so much. Nitro= loud noise, slow, high maintenance, expensive fuel. Electric= low maintenance, fast speeds

  • i have a brushless slash and its fun as hell but that firestorm is kickass

  • Sweet, I may get this one or the Slayer. Any comments on how easy it is to operate and good it is?

  • does it go backwards also

  • Yes, all the car have reverse if that's what you mean.

  • that firestorm is insane

  • yes right on..

battery powered is the best than fuel, gas, nitro

  • nitro is ten times more fun...

  • Yes, you're definetely having fun when your ears are buzzing because of that noise and your eyes are weeping because of all that smoke - oh, if you happen to get your nitro engine running on that particular funny day, that is. :D

  • nice car that look way more bad ass than some nitro

  • 5:05 is awesome

  • Later we actually drove all the way up the bank. It was tricky if you wanted to get your car on it's wheels at the top. :)

The highest section is actually vertical btw.

  • That's a great spot to bash in, not sure how you found it :)

    Where is this?

  • Thanks, it's located at Siilinjärvi, Finland.

  • i dont think the slash has enough suspension travel??

  • LMAO TOO FAR!

  • how much does a brushless motor cost

  • The price range is quite wide for brushless motors. You can get one for around 30$ and the top end motors can cost 200$ (for bigger cars double the prices).

  • im going to be running a 3S on a mamba 4600kv system, how is your temps on the ESC/Batt./LIPO??

  • The motor will get quite hot - dunno what's with Castle motors, they've always been running so hot that I had to keep cooling breaks (temps near 200F). Also the ESC get's quite hot with 3S, I'd suggest a fan on top. Haven't got any temp probs with MM & 4S, so I presume the heating is caused from the internal bec, dunno for sure?

  • ok thanks, i think imma go with the MM ESC and the VXL 3500kv motor on 3S, if i still have heat probs. i will throw a fan on the ESC

  • Sounds excellent! :)

  • iv gt a firestorm flux its a great piece of kit with 2 cell 5000mah lipo im really proud of it cuz its really fast at least 50mph+ but takes a good beating

  • the firestorm looks faster top end but need the supension hardening up abit the slash looks very well setup over the jumps but bit slower top end

  • is there anything done to the transmission or differential in the e firestorm?

  • Actually yes - I replaced the HPI slipper with Traxxas one using Jato input shaft & slipper parts. This was done mainly because of the limited gearing options that HPI has with Firestorm. Dunno the current situation, but at the time there was only one size spur available but with Traxxas slipper system I could use anything from Stampede/Rustler 48p, Jato/E-Maxx 32p to Revo's mod1 gears. Also the slipper construction is better. ;)

Otherwise the gearbox internals were stock.

  • what is better in your opinion the vxl system on 3s lipo or the sidewinder system on 3s lipo?

  • From those I'd choose VXL, since it runs much cooler than any of the Sidewinder or Mamba Max combos.

Then again if it would be possible, I'd take MM or Sidewinder esc and Velineon 3500 combo... :)

  • can you get a bumper for a hpi e 10t firestorm flux because mine is getting batterd up and i need to save it

  • You should check it from wheelspinmodels(dot)co(dot)uk or modelsport(dot)co(dot)uk if you are located in the UK.

  • wow, the e-firestorm is SUPER fast.. Looks like the only one with paddles? that would explain some of the speed difference, tires can make a world of difference. Because i KNOW its not the systems holding any of the cars back =).. Very nice array of trucks and nice video!

  • Thanks!

Yes, only Firestorm had paddles, Slashes had stock tires and suffer from the lack of traction.

  • Does the E-firestorm have sand paddles on

  • Yes, HPI Sand Throwers if I remember correctly.

  • where is this? it looks like lancelin

  • Nope, not Lancelin. Are is located in northern Europe, Finland to be exact. :)

  • Nice! All I need to said is Very Nice. Sweet little trucks =)

  • Man, that 10t is fast, cant be stock.

  • witch 1 do you think is better, the HPI E-Firestorm or the Traxxas slash XD (DON'T ANSWER), i wish i coul seen your face when u read this, seeing that u said you get the question a lot, nice vid.

  • LOL! Thanks! :)

  • weat do u think is better, hpi e firestone or trx slash

  • Aaah come on.. I've replied this question so many times on my video comments. They're both good on their own "area", pick the one you like the most - shouldn't go wrong. :)

  • big thanks i think i can decide soon

  • where did you get that beast... and would you consider selling?

  • The Slash was bought from amainhobbies and is sold to new owner already, if that's what you meant. :)

  • lol i spelled days dasy lol and engine worg

  • lol this is not funny my traxxas stampede ele i just got3 dasy ago i was jumping 1.5feet jumps and landed and i heard my spur spur spocet grinding the enger spocket lol broke the 3dasy ...had 3teeth missing =(

  • well thats the problem i dont know wich one i like best of them

  • Go with the Traxxas Slash.

HPI = harder parts to find.

Most people worry about the new Slash until they get one.

Once you get one... it's worth it.

  • wich one is the best of slash (not brushless) and the E-firestorm (not brushless)??

plz mail back as soon u see this...

  • It's kinda hard to compare two totally different car types. Both are good and durable cars, I think you should get the one that you like the best.

  • how fast do you think the 1st one goes with a 7 cell? how fast with the 3s lipo

  • Really don't know - goes more than fast enough atleast with 3S.

  • i have a slash and was looking to get a velineon system and was wondering how fast yours can go?thanks

  • Dunno about top speeds, goes way too fast for offoad conditions. :)

  • I'm guessing the top speed is around 50 MPH - 60 MPH for a modified Slash.

  • i wana buy the slash or the e-firestrom but i dont now which i shoud buy help me

  • Depends from what you are planning to do with it. E-Firestorm is better for plain bashing & jumping, Slash for general driving/racing.

  • I find the extra ground clearance of the slash makes for a better basher. But the tires are more all terrain. For grass and sand you'll find they don't grip very well. You can put stadium truck tires (firestorm) on a slash but it ruins the scale appearance. Also the slash is more forgiving on a bad bounce or jump where the firestorm bottoms out a lot. In the end you'll enjoy both but I'm picking the Slash as my favorite basher.

  • It's only good that the chassis takes part of the impact on high/bad landings. This helps on keeping the shocks & shock towers in one piece. :)

Keep some Slash bumpers near if you plan to bash with it.

  • nice video! woah! the firestorm is fast!*****

  • sweet video, bashing place, trucks and driving! the slashes were awesome! what kind of tires did the firestorm have? it didnt look like it was having any trouble gripping at all!

  • Thanks :)

E-Firestorm had stock fronts and Panther Paddles at the rear. Plenty of grip, no chance of full throttle with 3S.

  • i had a feeling they were paddles. it was blazing fast.

  • mistä noi firen laparenkat on ostettu?

  • Enpäs muista, Panther Paddlet kuitenkin ovat tässä alla.

  • dOES THE MAMBA 4600 GET HOT ON 3-CELL IN THE SLASH

  • Yes it does, need to fiddle with the gearing a little to see if that's going to help.

With 3S it's too fast for offroading anyways, 2S might be enough.

  • ok can you let me know hoew it is on 2-cell cause im really curious

  • Have to see if I can get my hands on one, since I don't own any.

  • Which truck do u like best ?

    E-Firestorm or the slash ?

  • Dunno, both are good in their own class. E-Firestorm is good stadium truck and Slash is good "scale" off-road race truck.

  • which system do u like best on the e-firestorm ?

The xcelorin 4800 or the sidewinder 4600 ?

  • My choice would be the Sidewinder because of it's programming options.

  • what about if u thought about performance ?

  • There's so little difference, if any, in performance that it's not the deciding factor.

  • O.o Xcelorin got programming also. PC/Card.

  • I'm quite aware of that. Still Castle's esc programming options (=adjustability) beats Losi hands down, and that's just my personal opinion. :)

  • How is the xcelorin compared to the vxl?

    Looks much faster...

  • Well it is, with same voltage used. Velineon gives you 3500kv (rpm/volt) and Xcelorin 4800kv. Ofcourse Slash is quite a bit heavier than the E-Firestorm.

E-Firestorm has Panther Paddles in this clip and the traction on sand is unbelievable, which can be seen when the car is accelerating.

  • Slight correction:

kv means revolutions per volt, not rpm per volt... :P

  • that firestorm is rly hauling ass!

  • wHAT MAH IS THE LIPO IN THE VXL SLASH AND WHICH SLASH IS FASTER THE VXL SLASH OR THE MAMBA SLASH

  • The VXL Slash had a 3300mAh LiPo if I remember correctly. I had an 6000mAh one with my SW 4600.

VXL was geared 25/83 and mine was 19/83. We haven't tried out which one is faster, but with those gears I'd put my money on the VXL.

  • do u know how hot the sw 4600 motor was getting in the slash? u said u were geared 19/83, im running a sw 4600 in my slash on 5000mah 3s at 22/90 and in about 4 minutes its at 160f,

  • It got very hot, topping near 190F. Had to let it cool down often, which why I don't like those high kv motors anymore. Smaller kv gives a more runtime in terms of temperatures. 3500kv is definetely the highest that I will ever get.

  • oh, wow, 190, well i was running a 5700 on 2s, that went 0-40 mph in about 3 seconds, and kept real cool, like 110F, now ive put that in a stampede and it works fine, im stuck with the 4600 now though, so i better make the best of it. castle creations tech support told me to turn down the timing, wich should reduce temp and increase torque, i want wheelies! LOL.

  • Thanks for the advice srry i might just have to go get one tommorow!

  • WOW NICE. what brand lipo are you using?

  • I'm using MaxAmps, friends have LRP & Team Orion LiPos.
