BUT if I said, its just more fair, since the items bring luck into the game. without the items its all about the skill, plus the final destination stage is symetric(does that word exist in english), means the same on both sides, so the chances r equal.

You obviously have never seen a professional Melee match. All because Smash Bros is different doesn't mean it's any less of a fighter. Yes, Street Fighter and MK are more traditional, but that doesn't mean Brawl isn't meant to be played competitively.

Make no mistake, SSB has always had a credible competitive following, but comparing it to the likes of Street Fighter and MK, or even calling it a fighter is laughable.

i still find ur statement quite flawed, yes SSB isnt a fighter in the traditional sense, that was the point afterall, but it even still follows some basic rules of fighters, mostly 3D fighters, there are "ringouts" if u will thats usually the only way to win unless its stamina mode in which health really does apply, the goal is to defeat the other player(s) and thats what its strictly is about and hell it even gves off the fighter vibe

That's the thing man, I'm not saying SSB sucks by any means, it's just.. not a fighter. Brawler (hence "Brawl") would be more accurate, that's always been the way I viewed it, even during the 64 days years before we even knew about any sequels. It's like comparing Gran Turismo and F-Zero, both are great games, but they're both extremely different derivatives of their genre.

well compared to street fighter and mortal kombat, smash brothers is actually a game that really is fun to play with people. while standart beat'em'ups bore me pretty fast. but in the end thats a matter of taste. I just thionk that smash bros is one of the best party games. but u might have one point, while SF and MK r pure skill, smash bros is also some luck due to the items.

They should make Power Stone again! I played it recently on the PSP (i.e Power Stone Collection) and OMG it's addictive. They could have some awesome tournaments for that game too if Capcom made another one. I mean, given for Marvel VS Capcom 3, people had to wait 10 years, I think it's time for Power Stone to return. If people beg for it, it will come out or start developing.

im totally with you dude! got the psp version and the dreamcast game of part 1 here. fucking love it. and u know that game just aint hard to learn. u can play it on any party, after 3 rounds most ppl are able to keep up with you. its such an awesome fighting game

We already have a crossover fighting game released recently. Capcom should change it up. I know fighting is like their biggest genre, but geez, how about a slightly different one for once? Even if it's just a re-port, I would get it.

also shokio...you should check out some of the major brawl mods/hacks. youve probably heard of some of them, the major ones are BBrawl, Brawl+, Brawl-, and the latest Project M which is basically them trying to recreate melee.

usually all gamestops have tournaments, but they never mention them to customers. Read the notes and signs they tape up on the doors and windows of the building from the outside. Thats usually how I find out about them. I won a UFC Undisputed 2009 tournament about 2 years ago. A lot of scrubs show up at the gamestop tournaments ive attended, and the players with skill shine quick. It was me stomping these poor trash talking kids for an hour in front of their parents, almost felt bad

My bro plays Lucario, Snake, and Zero-Suit. He is uber good and I hate playing against him. He actually has his own SSB team at his school. I also have a friend who won the first SSBB tournament at my highschool (Japanese Club)using Link with a tank playstyle. I play Link too, but use a more projectile spam and set-ups style. I never did get to fight my friend though, but got to the semi-finals at the 2nd club tourney, losing to my bro that is, in which he won that tourney.
