ME WHEN I FIRST SAW THAT ON THEATER: Oh this is the final scene.....let's see....hmm...hmmm (the card appears)....oh, wait....this...is this...? (batman flips the card) Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.......(batman flies off) I WANT THE NEXT ONE, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
@superfob54 Maybe something like "I wasn't wrong " making a reference to what he said before about being wrong about Batman before Batman went to get info out from Flass. Or he thought "Yeah..we will bring Gotham back".
@radien239 The timeline between the two movies is never specified. Though it is improbable that it directly correlates with the time it took to produce The Dark Knight
Out of every batman movie before bb and tdk, Gordon was just another character that told batman of crime, in the comics is a way more, batman and Gordon were really close and bb and tdk are the only movies that shows the chemistry ad friendship outside of there jobs between them, they did great and Gary oldman really does look like Gordon from the comics and the joker part....3 years later a masterpiece was released
@Berengier817 No. I think all the live-action and television adaptations of the Joker are unique. There's the classic Joker (Mark Hamill), the insane gangster (Jack Nicholson), and the grim anarchist-for-hire (Heath Ledger). Every second of any of these Jokers I enjoyed.
@Sungetsu15 Classic would be Cesar Romero, Hamill would have been more insane had they of let him, but it was a *cartoon* show. I imagine more fans, when they read Batman comics with the Joker, will imagine it in Mark Hamills voice

batman reveals his true idenity to gordan in the third film, bruce wayne and jim gordan share a kiss and it leads to passionate love in bruces penthouse, gordons wife figures this out and leaves gordon and plots a revenge plan to kill batman, she injects herself with food poisening and becomes poisen ivy to make batman fall in love with her and then cut off his penis and make him eat it. Gordon shoots her in the head and saves the day, Bruce and Jim then share oral sex over a sun set.
In the final scene of the first movie they've put up the Batman spotlight, in the end of the 2nd movie they break it. Can't wait for the trilogy ender.
@TheBluManiac Yeah, Nolan says he'll only make batman as long as there's quality stories to tell. He doesn't want to make a quicky for money and ruin his work.
Maujo. I don't think so. Gordon said double homicide, not the massacre occured at the bank. He was probably talking about the very first Joker's crimes after the train showdown... And you can see this is the very first time the Batman sees the "bat signal", when on the TDK that was being used long time ago...
Have you guys realized that, despite this scene occurs in "Batman Begins", it is actually part of "The Dark Knight"? This scene should have occurred AFTER Joker robbed that bank at the beginning of "The Dark Knight"... Ain't that cool? I love Christopher Noolan's editing!!!
@maujo2009 TDK takes place about a year after Begins, so in Begins is when the first joker crimes occur. When TDK starts off the joker had already been commiting crimes, Gordon even says that the bank robery at the beginning was the 5th. So I guess in the time between the two movies the joker had been slowly robbing different mob banks building up his power.
Heath Ledger was locked in Arkham, but Ra's Al Ghul freed him so he could sniff the gas and become even worse.
Actually, since the gas makes you see everything as terrifying and evil, that actually makes sense: it would explain why the Joker feels the world needs to burn and always sees the ugliness in people.
Now I know the identity of Scarecrow in the Dark Knight scene with Batman and the dogs and italian mob guy (I saw TDK before Batman Begins). And now we see why the Joker escaped.
Notice that Gotham looks so much different in TDK too. I wonder if the Joker went insane from Crane's methods or maybe he fell into the toxic waters....? I'd love to find out if anyone knows.
It's not really known whether or not Joker was even in Arkham. You could assume so, definitely. But as for the toxic chemicals giving him the scars, it's doubtful. But Joker has never had a definitive origin. He keeps changing it, like in the movie. I like to think though that he gave himself the "smile" simply b/c he's completely insane.
He's all that and at the same he isn't. That's what the Joker is all about, everything regarding has to be uncertain. You could see how many times he had "a change of heart", even though he "just does things", there's a plan behind them. That's what makes him so unpredictably evil and literally explosive.
@RuuIsk34 Nolan didn't want to explore the joker's origin, but he probably was an escaped crazy from Arkham if I had to guess. And yeah Gotham looks different in TDK because they filmed totally in chicago, Begins was filmed with some chicago and the other parts were just built sets. I personally liked the way the city looked in Begins better, but that's just a minor gripe.
When I first saw this in the theater, I pissed my pants!
