According to my book "power of the rat" which is based on this episode, the rat talisman was found on a lamp in auction and Jackie had to bid $2,000 just to win it before Toru did.Toru tried to steal the lamp but Jackie kicked it and it broke freeing the talisman.Jackie took the talisman, ran for the bridge and Toru saw it had dynamism and activating it and there is were this video picks off.
