  • volkswagen sucks!!!

  • That hood bends like it's made of aluminum foil.

  • @tommytunes100 It's the hood or the driver you can chose what sould bend more ....

  • Bullshit! I see minor damage ! Headlights + hood + maybe other small plastic insignificant parts... that's a fender bender to me. The bumper seems intact.

  • @SINEKT Have you seen how much those "insignificant" parts cost?

  • @fishtankfreak No, all I know is that I'm keeping my old car if a fender bender costs me 10 salaries. A bumper for me is around 60$, a headlight 30$, a whole brand-new door is 200$/a piece and costs around 100$ to paint, reassemble all parts on it, including windows and mount it on the car. The whole exhaust system, from the engine to the back was around 300$, (final and mid mufflers + catalyzer). :))

  • I think that this much damage was caused because the Impact Beam Does Not Absorb Energy and is fixed. Unlike another cars bumper which would have Also absorbed the impact making the damage Less

  • uh...that is a volkswagen Rabbit...it says LOL

  • this one has excessive damage compared to the focus.

    fuck VW!!

  • @GottfriedvonCramm Lmfao!!!! No don't Fuck VW Fuck newer cars, They're a scam for making money and nothing more! I hit a tractor tire with my old 72' VW beetle and back into it with my truck with a heavy 1200 pound flat bed at 28 MPH and then hit the fender on fence beam and the only Damage done was a small dent from where the truck hit it which costed me about a hamburger 2 hours worth of my time. LOL New cars are fucking PATHETIC man. No I'm not a bad driver, I do off roading with no brakes

  • @14omega28ok thats true, nowadays cars are made of tin foil. good for the manufacturer, bad for the insurance company = bad for your financial health.

beetles were made to last forever. dont get rid of it!

  • 0:25 The V- Dub thought it was a twinkie.. insted it realized its a metal and he lost one of his teeth.

  • its made on purpose to protect the passengers, besides in the real life the other car would have moved forward making a minimum impact

  • @V8block8 What is when the car has a pulled brake or both drive with 3mph? Its the same. ;)

  • @saufdichweg dint understand that but as long as it isnt an insulting comment im okay with it

  • I think that this much damage happened because the bumper beam hit underneath the crash object, and so it isn't the crumple zone's fault, but it is either the car's fault or the tester's fault

  • @baseballmanrg i think this is stranded height of the other car bumper but i might be wrong too

  • its the testers fault, cause the crumple zone starts right below the bumper and if you watch the video, the hood and headlights absorb it, not the bumper which its supposed to, and the harder (than the hood) crumple zone slides underneath the barrier forcing the hood and headlights to absorb it

  • Why the hell do they mount the bumpers so high on these tests? I guess they are geared toward US market cars, because that is the ONLY place in the world where most of the cars have bumpers like 3 feet off the ground (eg SUVs and pickups).

  • and this is why the economy went bad,is because somone bumps into your car and they spend there lifes savings getting a small scratch on your car fixed.

  • I hit a deer @ 55mph with my 95 3 series BMW, total cost of repairs was around $250. Deer was unforunately killed instantly.

  • I hit a deer @ 55mph with my 95 3 series BMW, total cost of repairs was around $250.

  • Thats not a Ford Focus though, its a VW Rabbit.

How did you manage to mislable all your videos dumbass?

  • @TheCottonTop Right!

  • those are pesos i think 4000 dollars its too much thumbs up if you are agree

  • Not a fair comparison. The bumper and rear area on a typical car would give quite a bit of yield, and the simulated bumper gives hardly any.

  • these car have crumple zones to make it safer ofr the driver but not good for the car

  • Also guys if you have ever seen pick ups with those huge metal bumpers get in a wreck you dont the people walk aaway and the truck can still drive

  • @paintball4life3214 Yes a pickup may be able to drive away after an accident but they still suffer damage and the more rigid the vehicle the more of the energy of the crash is transferred into the occupants. Many years ago someone ran a 1990 Civic into a 1986 GMC and the results were a totalled Civic and a GMC that "drove" away - busted rad, leaking oil pan, scrubbing tires that pointed the wrong way. All occupants walked away. This says more about how well the Civic was designed than the GMC.

  • @marshgr Man i couldnt even understand what i wrote. Anyways i was in a wreck 5-6 years ago in a chevy 3500 with a full replacement bumper(big metal one). A drunk drver hit me head on going 60mph in a civic. The truck i was in plowed throw the civic sending him to the er. I had no injuries, i guess what im trying to say is as long as a large truck doesnt meet a larger truck your fine. Another bad thing about those bumpers is there conected to the frame and can/will cause damage.

  • But in a real crash wouldn't the other car crumple to? That would lessen the damage.

  • @marshgre Yes and no, Car vs car yes, car vs suv/truck no because like in the video the car will lift the larger car up

  • @paintball4life3214 Most modern SUV's are unibody and will crumple as will the frame on a pickup to some extent. This test rig is just too rigid to illustrate a "real world" crash.

  • @stickittotheman1 ...hit your head against a wall at 6mph....i'd bet you'd rather have a bumper lol

  • I don't think that's a fair test. That bumper simulator is too thin and mounted to high. It's not making true bumper to bumper contact.

  • 6MPH To a VW: new hood, new bumper, new lights

6MPH to a Saab: Buff out the scratch

  • @KkF00 depends on the kind of car i'm sure

  • How fast was this dumb bitch going like 5 mph?

  • I say bring back the metal bumbers insted of this plastic crap!

  • Bikes are economical... the rider takes the hit! lol

  • i bet the puppet who's driving is a woman.

  • If, that was a Rolls Royce, it will cost the same, as the car did! XD

  • I would love one of those. Also read a good article about the same at fasteconomicalcars (.) com

  • Use the duck tape!!

  • come on !!! use tape rubber and you can still go on

  • the problem of modern cars - regardless to their advantages - is that after such a crash the whole car can be twisted to one side so you can´t open e.g. the back doors.

    I´ve known it to happen.

  • its because the gay boy brussles beurocrats want cars that hug idiot pedestrians who step into the road, can you believe in the UK you get fined £2000 for walking on rail lines (because of course trains are silent and so smooth you'd never know one coming) and yet if a pedestrian steps out onto a deul carrageway with a speed limit of 70mph the driver of the car is to blame automaticly?!? and would probably loose thier licence and be threatened with a custodial sentance (hard time)

  • @theprodicalsonishere

" because the gay boy brussles beurocrats"

Learn to spell you butt fucking piece of shit.

  • @PacificEdibleSeaweed what are you belgian or something or a great lover of stupid EU legislation? or a bum bandit?

  • its because the gay boy brussles beurocrats want cars that hug idiot pedestrians who step into the road, can you believe in the UK you get fined £2000 for walking on rail lines (because of course trains are silent and so smooth you'd never know one coming) and yet if a pedestrian steps out onto a deul carrageway with a speed limit of 70mph the driver of the car is to blame automaticly?!? and would probably loose thier licence and be threatens with a custodial sentance (hard time)

  • Come baby Asian ladies #lushfmlk.info#

  • ouch.

  • The simulated bumper seems to be at pickup truck height. No wonder it causes this much damage to CARS. Sorry, we don't ALL live in Redneck Country....so this test is meaningless....lol

  • give me the cars and it wont cost me more than 500 bucks, jober parts and black tremclad loll

  • yikes

  • the worst car!!!

  • The IIHS bumper is too high for cars now. I'm sure eveyone noticed that in the test, the bumper system for all cars (excluding SUVs and Pickups) that the hood is being pushed in by the bumper. I saw a test where a 1989 Ford Escort was put to this test and the bumpers matched EXACTLY. Outdated by about 21 years.... Time for a change.

  • @SkiPro1368 keep in mind though atleast in the states demograph for cars are still mainly dominated by suvs and trucks.

  • thats a fucking golf

  • @toyotaprius79 This generation Rabbit/Golf was called the Rabbit. That's why there's a picture of a rabbit next to the badge that displays the size of the engine. 2010s and on, however, are again called Golfs.

  • @toyotaprius79 Read the description. He tried putting the description as the title too.

  • you would think the airbag would have easily went off?

  • Who cares how much you pay for them? What about when your going down the highway and some moron smashes into you? I don't think your gonna give a shit about how much its gonna pay, at least it saved your life

  • I like my Pick up truck.

  • 4K to fix that?????? I could fix that for a couple hundred bucks if you weren't too lazy to fix it yourself.

  • I think that this test is shit. It is so inaccurate. I mean imagine that "orange thing" to be a little higher or lower. No folding in = 1000 less. There must be sth real hard behind the license plate to prevent this from happening. That why the car got squeezed under orange thing. An inch lower and total cost half that.

  • wow!!!!!!! that will clean ur walate out

  • some girl rear ended my truck at like 20 and i was at a dead stop my hitch busted he grill rad bumper and hood my truck my hitch was pushed in and my bumper was scrached. her damage was about 3000 mine was 0 just tied the hitch to a tree and yanked it out

  • Fuck man. Look at the hood folding like a mountain. This is literally not economical.

  • Who gives a crap how much damage the car takes?

As long as the passenger compartment and you are ok...let the insurance companies deal with it.

  • 6mph and the front folds in? Seriously wtf?

I remember I had a SAAB 9000 and I went into the back of some twat in Yaris (@35mph) who pulled out on me

The Yaris just folded in like this, hahaha my Saab had a cracked headlamp and a big scratch on the bumper. I drove it around for another year after that.

Anyone think that car manufacturers love making cars "safer" at the same time as increasing their repair revenue 10 fold?

  • @chapmasi They're called crumblezones and they will save your life.

  • Im more than aware of crumble zones which dissipate the energy of a crash into your vehicle (ie not into you) but its been proven at this speed its very unlikely that you will have ANY inuries at all, crumple zone or not. Its also proven that colliding with another vehicle at 70mph in a similiar way, which a crumble zone will do little to stop, will most likely seriously harm you.

Its win win for car manufacturers who increase their repair revenue whilst claiming its all in the name of safety

  • 4 grand is ridiculous, No wonder insurance is so expensive, might as well write the thing off if you bump into something....hell if this happened to me I'd glue the headlights back in place and fix the hood myself, ridiculous...

  • *Cough* women drivers *cough*

  • Tip: Don't crash.

  • well, what i think their getting at is that if you own a vw car you are predestined to go 6mph into a jacked ford ranger with a bumper that is half the height of a stock one....

  • put one of those police style metal push bars on the front lol

  • 9 grand to fix that! the fuck jump on the hood fuck da headlights

  • if that was a hummer the wall would be the one with the damage lol

  • omg plastic xD

  • 4000$

    too much man for vw

what we will do if i have bmw or benz ?

    fuck the traders

  • @q8m302 The figures they give are BS.I bet you anything you want if you go to a mechanic you know you can fix it for half the money if not even less.

  • Moron's. These cars are one of the safest in class. For the idiots who don't understand modern day cars... They easily absorb collision energy in order to protect the human body from the force. That's why it doesn't take much to wreck or total them.

  • at 5mph there isn´t much force as to produce any significant damage to occupants. You are probably exposed to greater forces on roller coasters...

  • @winter599 yeah im sure you will break 2 ribs and an ankle hitting something going 6 mph stfu

  • @winter599 No. all they are trying to prove is they arent economical for crash repairs, not that they are weak ass pieces of shit

  • @winter599 the volkwagon rabbit is infamous for having terrible crash ratings.

  • @NitroGadvRules Bullshit, actually it's very safe.

  • @winter599 they dont make this test for safety, its for money, they test how bad it damage and how much it will cost the insurans to repair it

  • @winter599

Safest in its class is not what this is about though, its about small cars as such costing more to repair.

  • @winter599 Amen to that I had someone run a stop sign on me and I t-boned them doing 50kph (35mph) in my 2002 Civic Sedan and didn't even have a bruise. That's a testament to these little cars engineering, thank-you Honda for saving my life!

  • @winter599 Um Moron. Have you ever heard of "Crumple Zones?" They absorb the energy from a crash. Hint the reason older cars don't have good crash test ratings. For example, the VW in the video. How is a Grille, head lights, and a plastic bumper going to help absorb the energy from a High Speed Crash? They can't. Auto makes should make stiffer outer materials for a low speed crash demonstrated in the video.

  • @winter599 if i crash my car i dont care of the costs ..i care only for my protection... gay ass insurance companys single concern is money... so in a crash the dmg can be 1 gazillion dolars i dont give a shit ..that;s why i pay insurrance

  • @winter599 but they shouldnt cost that much in damage! there is something that could be done to minimize costs

  • @winter599 well atleast if i was driving a 6000 lb led sled i'd just push that german piece of crap across the road and through a lightpole because my car would be made of STEEL not PLASTIC!

  • low speed and collisions shouldn't be in the same sentence.

  • LOL aint that the truth. You get into a crash at 65mph in this thing ull end up like the rabbit you ran over....Flat and DEAD

  • Golf has 5 star in japanese crash test! German cars are the best!

Why don't you see the frontal crash test for this 2005 golf?

    PS: French cars suck!

  • The plastics all just.. kinda fell apart.

  • a friend of mine has a golf and they have a cracked windscreen and its goin to cost around $4,000 to get it fixed how stupid!!

  • :o :). jaja

  • lol and buy a golf fuckin shit

  • vw golf sucks

  • only because you can't afford one! golf is the best car ever, i don't want to miss mine

  • wow, one of the worst performers I have even see

  • yeah... too low!
