It started of not bad. There was an atmosphere and potential for a decent B-horror movie. But close to the end everything just went to shit: plot, acting, effects. Everything was chopped up into pieces that just couldn't stick together no matter how much glue you put on them. Seems like the last third was filmed by 5 year old kids. There's so much wrong with it, it's funny. Final verdict 4/10.

Decent Film overall, but it could have been exccuted much better. 50% Of the Film was uildup. The Bulk of the Crew was eliminated very quickly, the monster was barely shown and the end was just meh On the other hand it got a decent cast, excellent Music from Jerry Goldsmith and great Production Design from Ron Cobb.

Had its moments but inferior in every way to Alien. btw, if these creatures were regenerative, then surely the Jaws-style smackdown would simply just have created 1000s more of them - not to mention the shack's implosion just not being adequate to vanquish them for once and for all. The punching out of the MD might have been appropriate coming from the fem lead, otherwise it was a bad directing decision.

This ending makes no sense to me. First off, how did they survive the rise to the surface without exploding like a can of fizz? Second, why show sharks if they serve no plot purpose? Third, how does this creature survive a head crunch and explosion but die to a single bullet. So much bullshit in one ending. I didn't think it was possible.
