This school is not as bad as people are writing here. Graffiti? I have not seen any. People dressing ghetto? I see people dressing normally. Some professors are great. The only thing that sucks about this school is the overall construction of this school. It feels like i am walking through high school hallways plus the elevators really need a major renovation including bathrooms. Plus I never hear about school sports, extra activities etc. There needs to be meetings that tells students of new p

So far it has been a great experience for me. Any school can be as good or as bad as you make it when you are there. For example, I met this guy when I was registering for classes complaining how horrible the school is, but he was drugged out of his mind, literally. Thank God he was dropping all his classes and changing schools or something to that extent. Ironically, he was complaining about the professors. So I would say this college is a great choice, def in the top half of cuny colleges.

Not my type of enviorment if you ask me. And yes the enviorment does determine how a person functions. In addition graffiti everywhere :(

@thedominirican92 the "environment" (because that's how you spell it) is just fine, no one bothers you, try going to the library if you want quiet time. School is fine, if you believe it is a bad school it is probably because you do not know English or you are just a bad student overall. Also, I don't believe I will be using any jumping stilts the way I dress and I don't see how the way other people dress should bother you to begin with. If you want out, go ahead doors are open.

@xagerated First i would like to say thank you for spelling environment for me as i am not such a great speller. Now let me say that i was born and raised in the united states so i know english and im excell mostly in english, it's just that my spelling is kind of "off". I would also like to point out that i am NOT a bad student what so ever. My gpa may be a little low right now "3.0" since in all of my classes i only recieved a B average.

@xagerated If you took any offence in what i wrote i apoligize, i was just pointing my personal opinions about the school. yes you are right about dressing having nothing to do with a persons character but lets be honest here. 2 people apply for the same job, one is wearing a suit and a tie and the other has his pants on the ground and an XXL shirt who would they take more serious. now im not saying the students should wear suits but dressing more appropiate will help the school seem succesful.

@ShadowHunterSOS Apply to a real college. I only went to this school because of my immigration status at the time. I'm about to transfer this fall.

@Nkosi868 this college asks for your ss# as well as any other cuny, so unless you have one you cannot apply to any cuny schools so I don't see why your immigration status made you apply specifically to this college. If you want to apply to private college then by all means go ahead if you have the money, not everyone is willing to spend 50-70 grand for a bachelors when you can do it for much less.

My answer is, "No, there isn't a lot going on. You will be better off going to another college."

This is probably hands down (BOTH HANDS) the worst college there is within the CUNY system. The staff are very lazy and unhelpful. Especially the counselors their only responses are "up to you". I requested my transcript at the registrar to be sent but they stalled until a month later when I requested it again; only then they sent my transcript. The students here are fking dumb ass hell, lazy, unmotivated and are very distracting. Needless to say some of the professor here can't even teach.

@chyeaaitzfelix I am actually currently attending this school and i beg to differ. not all the students @ this college are lazy. As in every school, there are bound to be students who either like to work or be lazy, that's just the way it is. As for the counseling i kinda agree with you on that part to a certain extent. Not all counselors are helpful.

easily one of the worst colleges in the CUNY system. The demographic data surrounding this school speaks for itself. Students who arrive at this school are unprepared for college work. Don't waste your time and money earning a useless Associate's degree in this school. Do yourself a favor and work hard in high school to avoid pitying yourself after enrolling..

absolutely, without a doubt. There are really so many different types of people at the school. The professors are really great. Anything you could possibly need to improve is available to everyone

@mjrjunior As someone who graduated Class of '91 (yes, that long ago), City Tech is very liberal, progressive & "international-oriented". Non pasa nada! It was the best college experience I've ever had, great students from all over the world, very nice, down-to-earth professors who are more than willing to work with you. I was born in NYC, son of immigrants from Spain, so I'm a product of the melting-pot; believe me, it is a GREAT college and I encourage you to apply! Boa suerte!!!
