@ChangonChingan Really, because when I hear rap music, I don't hear kickass guitar riffs and solos and wicked melodic vocal screeching. In rap music I hear a computerized beat and some guy talking like a caveman, which is the opposite of what I hear in rock. So tell me again how rap music is influenced by great rock music?
@FanHalen5150 I know man, the music is very different, but the message behind it and the visuals sort of influenced hip-hop artists, due to the fact that theyre singing bout cars, bitches, drugs, having a blast, and even guns (hence the name L.A. Guns ;) Also they show these visuals within these music videos, now you understand what I mean?
@ChangonChingan For sure. It's like the same story told by different authors using different styles and techniques and delivery. That does make sense. I apologize for ranting.
@jyoung0000 exactly, the best musician is one who isn't trying to be or be better than anybody else. Music is meant to be art and entertainment, not a competition.
"here is my baby Sharon tate, smoking gun that sealed her fate " this has something to do with the manson murders, but Sharon was stabbed. can't find it in any lyrics page
Anybody know why this track sounds different for the video to the recording?
In the last verse, on my Cd the last line is "flesh and blood to instigate, can't go back it's far too late" whereas in the video it's "85 dollars, ain't she great" can anybody explain this?
It's a demo version...I'm not sure who the drummer is, but I don't think it's Riley....The video rocks, I dig the 70's exploitation vibe...especially 1:49 to 1:57
You should check out the MOTLEY CRUE S.I.N. demo..the demo for the Shout at the Devil album...almost all the songs are arranged differently, especially "Shout", "Looks" and "Red Hot" which sounds COMPLETELY different than the album version
Tracii Guns RULES !! Had the honor of opening up for them one night back in 96, what a bunch of cool down to earth guys, burned one with Paul, that was cool.
LA GUNS AND FASTER PUSSYCAT are the 2 most under rated metal bands of that time of all f'n time.
I'd also put BLACK N BLUE in that list..though LAG and FP were, along with GNR, prime examples of HOLLYWOOD SLEAZE..BNB was a little more poppy, a little more commercial...
Axl Rose got together with Tracii Guns to form guns n roses. They broke up, Axl formed Guns & Roses and Traci reformed L.A. Guns. Phillip Lewis was the lead singer for L.A. Guns.
Almost. Tracii and Axl formed Guns N' Roses together (Tracii GUNS + Axl ROSE = Guns N' Roses). Tracii quit 'cause he wanted to have his own vision of a rock n' roll band and they replaced him with Slash...
No it was Phil Lewis. today there're 2 bands named L.A. Guns. Tracii's L.A. Guns and Phil Lewis' L.A. Guns. like TigerTailz... there are two TigerTailz...
@shamrocker320 i thought LA guns was gonna be alot bigger than they got, they sure proved you can be talented and ignored by the brainless, tasteless masses.
Great fun band. I remember seeing them back in the day here in town. Along with Motley, Ratt Dokken , poison the list goes on and on. The bands now all suck and arent even worth paying for parking.
Come on, you can't say such bands suck those days; "Tales From The Strip" is an amazing sleaze-album recorded by L.A.Guns, I think it's almost as good as "Appetite.."
Dokken released recently a very good record, and Mötley are back on top again wit "Saints Of Los Angeles" ...
I don't know why, but Phil reminds me of Sean Penn in this video, but with a nose job, of course. Anyways, L.A. Guns rock! 5+++ stars all the way, baby!
Yeah, it can't be the original ... There is a line that Phil almost blows in both verses, he almost can't make it, but in the end he does - just like in some live recordings ;))
love this :D <3

Axl's voice was one of the best.
But there are some other great front men - no such thing as best - its all about whatever mood ur in.

If Phil Lewis was half the asshole Axle is, they'd be the band "everyone" would be waiting for "what's next"?
Beat up some fans and cancel some shows will up your PR ratings.
Fuck off Axl you fuckin chump!
