It's perfectly normal, cats need to reflect light inside their eyes in orderto see in the dark and if you catch it at the right angle some of that light escapes. Also, you don't need a camera to see that just make it dark and have a small source of light and you will see.

I know of a real demon cat, I work with someone who has like 4 cats and he had an older brother that got pissed off at one of the cats for some reason (I dont remember) and beat the hell out of it, then put it in a pillow sheet and threw it down a hill. The next day the cat apparently is found waiting outside their house to get back in. The brother fears the cat and calls it the demon cat. the messed up thing was the brother thought he killed it.

As said as before cat's eyes naturally reflect light (perhaps special cells, I dunno), that's why they have good nightvision.

So the guy is just blinding that poor cat with intense light... and the cat hides just because he doesn't like that.

for the record, this was recorded with my 2 megapixel cell phone camera, with the build in light from the phone i was sitting 5-6 feet from her, with additional light turned on. i will agree the light on my phone can be a bit sharp at close range, but at the range from me to her, with the spread of the cellphone light, and with the additional lighting, there's barely any affect at all. she was looking away because a garbage bag under my bed was more interesting.
