  • I don't know why everyone is being critical of this song. I think they did a fantastic job on this. When I was in high school we actually did this song in the same tempo. This is how it was written for choirs to sing it. Plus it is in SATB form so it's not going to be perfect. Watch all of the covers of this song and you will see that the tempo is the same as this video.

  • To rushed. Th director should have just introduced the song and then the choir should begin singing. No speech necessary. Actual song a bit slower.

  • i heard the tener

  • it seem like you guys go way too fast in this song.......this song is suppose to b way slower than this.......u guys are rushing big time! and im only 13...... my choir sings this and its wayyyyy slower than this!

  • it seem like you guys go way too fast in this song.......this song is suppose to b way slower than this.......u guys are rushing big time!

  • my brother...the soloist..is amazing :)

  • the soloist is amazing

  • my choir was better :)

  • you did the rhythm wrong a few times.... but other than that love it.

  • My choir sings this song at this exact tempo, and I was listening to the other songs wondering why it was so slow! Personally, I love it faster and I don't think I would sing it any other way. Although I must admit these guys do need to get into it more and pronounce their words. I liked the soloist :] good job mister.

  • this is very good but it is to fast and the first part of the song water should be seperated instead of "water" it shold be "wa-ter"

  • The soloist is pretty good, but I definitely agree that the song is being song way to fast.

  • They Are Wayyyyy To Fast!!!

  • This is pretty sad... I know some 7th and 8th graders that sing this SOOO much better. This song was obviously being rushed by the choir, but the director made it seem like it should be like that... & the director is sooo annoying with her talks before the song.

  • @madgambi

actually, we did this for county chorus this year, and this sound like the perfect tempo, i do know what you mean tho, the feeling that the song gives off makes it feel like it should be slower, but its supposed to be like this.

  • @sylviAssasin - we just sang it at a slower tempo, so it's hard for me to imagine it at that much faster tempo. Sorry if I was critical. It didn't mean to offend anyone :/

  • this is too fast and too choppy. its not a goddamn jazz piece. otherwise pretty good

  • I'm in William Aberhart High's vocal jazz group, and we've been working on turning this piece into something beautiful.. :)

  • WIth the Silver girl verse when our girls sang "Your time has come to shine"

There was always the most beautiful blending. I really want to find another chorus with that blending.

  • @Rexyggor watch our video look up South Spencer Rebel SIngers, seriously, and that solo after Your time has come to shine is amazing, it wont be a waste of your time trust me,

  • My choir might do this song, but we can't get much of a hang of it. We're too busy working on our other really HARD songs.

  • my skool was guna do it i wanted the solo but my choir teacher cut it

  • we sing this song every year with my choir we love this song we sing it for our seniors cause we love them

  • i really like the way they did this it just needed to be slowed down a little bit

  • Woo. Singing this for spring concert. Gonna be friggin aesome

  • I like I can see my choir killing this song

  • They sing it too fast. It needs more soul..

  • I agree, its this wayyy too fast.

  • We did this for district one honor choir

  • The fast pace made the performance bad but the notes sounded good me chorus is singin this too and a girl should have sung the solo part where it starts off with sail on silver girl

  • whoo. good times.

  • we're doing this for all city chorus

  • We're singing this tomorrow.... after learning it a couple of days ago, luckly i can hear the 2nd sopranos in this and figure out my part...

  • We're singing this for our upcoming spring concert.

  • a bit too fast...

  • I have to say I really didn't enjoy this arrangement, speed aside. I didn't feel that it had enough light and shade and I thought you guys failed to capture the poignancy of the music.

  • very fast

  • I sang this years ago in Concert Choir..and I did the solo. Our choir was much smaller than this one though. This felt really rushed from the beginning...otherwise perfect.

  • you guys really rushed it .

  • my high school has a tradition of doing this every year for their spring concert.

  • i love his gospel-ish tone and vibrato!

  • what - no sop solos? gutting - its the same arrangement i've got too...

i wasn't sad and sang along or anything, obviously :P

good though. bit quick, but very good :)

  • i think you guys sang it pretty good! well done!

    :)

  • try Hudsonville High School!!!

    we rocked that song!!

  • haha my chior is real good too!

  • DAN TITMUSS BEATS YOU

  • Great =)

  • man Cedar Ridge Middle school did this in 2004. this brings back memories. we were really good for 8th graders

  • You did it very well. Hugs and greetings from Brazil. God bless you all.

  • im doing this song in my choir @ skool.we do it bettr but they r still good but we r bettr

  • soloist

    amazing :)

i got the solo in my choir :D

  • me too!

  • Cool :)

I'm sure you did great :)

  • i hate this arrangment (we did at our school as an extra song), but u guys were really good vocally. lose the swaying though. also, this isn't you fault at all, but i just don't like how this song got turned into a christian pop song.

  • i have to agree...the vocals were nice i think but the pace of the song is way too fast...the solo sounds great but it is all way too fast

  • Ok so I'd hate to sound like Simon Cowell, but that was terrible. It was the worst video I have ever seen. The vocalist was terrible, the movement was off, and it was way to fast!

You people ruined a perfectly good song!

  • This was very good and u need to stop making bad comments dont waste your time you fucking retared keep your negtive comments to urself i like this video it has very good vocals

  • my middle school is doin this and we did it in all county luv this songgggg

  • Wayy too fast. But great overall sound. We're singing this song too.

  • Haha, we're using exactly the same arrangement, only a bit slower. :P

  • It was good, but it should have been a little gentler. It sounded a little harsh. Also, stop swaying. :P

  • its pretty good, but a bit fast. We are doing this song too

  • we are singing this in choir right now.

it sounds awesome good job guys!

  • Great sound!

    Congratulations!

  • good job, but i dont think it should be that fast..also, i think the swaying should be left out...but you sound awesome ! good harmony !

  • nice singing but way to fast

  • omg phs choir is way betta

  • thanks 4 making this...very helpful 4 0ur upc0ming perf0rmance..go0d j0b guyz....

  • it was good but too fast

  • wow good harmonie!

you guys are even on the parts, good job on that note, the swaying takes away from the image though

  • hahahah the swaying is soooo funny!!!

  • we sang this song in choir

  • beautiful =)

  • fairplay that was nice

  • This was added to youtube as a resource for the students who performed in it... so that they could easily share their performance with family and friends.

  • Yes, excellent point. I agree that under that intent, this video is perfectly acceptable.

  • Bravo! many students in my class have enjoyed this. Thanks

  • Awsome! My piano camp preformed this and I have a vid of it.

  • we did a great job. i was the soloist iam so proud of all our choir's accomplishments this year. we even took home the gold at our anaheim festival greatjob guys!!!!

  • i played the piano for this song with my chorus. Only the whole song was sung by boys. All the notes, even the final high B-flat was done by the boys. I don't know why this was a boy's number and not a Tutti number.

  • you guys did gr8!!

  • it sound better with an british accent

  • omg the soloist was amazing and the chorus was as well. they put a different spin on a classic and i think it was great!

  • Sorry, but a cheesy, amateurish sing-along which has ruined the delicate beauty of the original. Why can't the musically retarded leave works of beauty alone?

  • Must you be so nasty??? Jeeze. Why do you call them retarded?? That's just mean. If you REALLY want to hear bad, bad, BAD.... just put "breakaway" and "choir" into the search box and you'll see what I mean. These kids did a fine enough job.

  • the choir at my school sang this song at our last concert and it didn't go so well.

  • my choir is doing this song as well! we go a bit slower though, a little differnt version, but yet this has been my favortie song my choir has ever done!

  • my choir is learning this piece now we are only in 7ht grade its was kinda hard to learn but we sung it at a compition and we got first wqe love our director and by the way i sung the solo with a boy and we did GREAT you should hear us sumtime and cum see us im also in Pocono mountain unrbane peace

  • We are doing this for our spring show choir concert on thursday... Ours is alot slower well we kinda have to be slow we are doing sign language through out the whole song...

  • great job guys

Shaler Area Chorus of pittsburgh pennsylvania

  • amazing. my choir is learning this piece right now for our Spring Concert =]

  • yeah my choir did this too. very different version though. our conducted said it was popular. yeah we just stand still for this one.

  • Wonderful!

  • hahaha,, can i sing with you??

  • Best choral version of this song i've heard. Congratulations. The acapella version at the start was spot on. Not too slow as some choirs tend to have it. As for the movement...just a sway will do.

  • this is really good! my choir is singing this=]

  • OMG YOU DID THE GOOD VERSION!!!! My school did this song the first year I was their...After that year they decided to make it a yearly tradidion to sing Bridge Over Troubled Water every spring. We would have a female and male solist for the two verses. I was the first male solost, it was such an honor. Your solist is very good. I really love the fact that you have a nice male section. Congrats ^_^

  • wow.. that was really good.We sang this song to.

  • GOOD CHOIR... lol love it.. OUR CHOIR IS BETTER.... lol jk jk

  • The arrangement is so lovely for choirs. Was this the arrangement done by Kirby Shaw? My Mum thinks that Kirby Shaw battered the original but I think he did a great job.

  • They can't side-step smoothly, lol.

  • ana yes! you did the gooood version of Bridge of Trouble Water
