In fact, Monique brings incredible, commendable emotion to this role, especially from a woman who has built her career on being comedienne. Her character is not a psychopath, but deeply troubled and has emotional scars and issues with self-loathing she cannot overcome. Her hatred and anger to those around her are merely reflections of her inner struggles.
