  • While we're on the topic.. I have a street directory of Sydney from when Darling Harbour was a goods yard.. I would guess its around 50 years old (Opera House was just a tram shed).. if anyone is interested I can upload a few of the inner city pages. Heck I even made a google earth overlay using the inner city pages which I can probably upload somewhere if someone wants it.

The light rail uses the main alignment that runs up from Ultimo road thru to the casino, and on to the fishmarkets, Glebe & Lillyfield. Soon to be extended to Dulwich Hill

  • Great Stuff.......

    "The way it was"

So true.......All todays engineman should view this.

This is not how its done today but in days long gone that was how it was done.

    Great memories...........

  • are they using a 73 shunter?

  • Yes. The 73 class took over from the 19 class steam locos from about 1970.

  • The UTS tower building is still being built in the background

  • What a great doco, certainly reflects the laid back style of the period.
