Watched this twice now and it is by far the most depressing film I have ever seen. The humiliation of the prostitute is shocking - shocking is good, but it does go too far and spolis the balance with Ekateryna Rak's character. I still can't believe the actor actually received oral sex - was there really any need for it? That said, I still find it a rewarding watch... the scenes in the hospital moved me most, I wonder whether the people on the ward were actual patients? It all seemed too real.

You shouldn't judge Olga by her cover. She is in a very precarious situation. She doesn't love the old man, it's a fact. But how could you possible blame her for doing the best thing she can to survive ? She is the one you should feel pity for. This movie shows a system, rather than people. It's an allegory.
