Nice power, clean signal, good working sub... aboout time i seen someone on here with a sub being used how its supposed to, i cant count how many people under power their sub and have shit signal running to it. Nice work. Perfect set up
@HitemWithTheFlex Yea you can, feed some dirty signal to a speaker moving that much and it wouldnt have made it :17... and it would consume a shit ton more power
@Slitripper5000 how do you know it is consuming more power from the vid? you can, all you know is how much excursion it has. even on clipped signal or a square wave the sub will move the same as a non clipped rounded wave. and speakers can last WAY longer on a clipped signal than you think, just depends how bad.
@MiragEdoz I had a 12" T1 and I really loved it, for the power I was giving it, 600+, it sounded amazing. I sold it to a friend and he still has it bumping in his truck and it's been almost 4 years.
@qotsaandsoadfan1 I see you have no clue what your talking about. Everything is set correctly and this subwoofer has never had any signs of failure. Let me see, 3 years now and everything is still running like the day I bought it.
From your post, I can tell you have blown many subwoofers due to your lack of knowledge in car audio.
Here's a lesson for you, always set your gain properly and you will almost never have any problems.
@666xGuitarplayerx666 I would say it's almost double the impact, well worth the extra $, with the T1 it was street loud, but with the T2 it was competition loud.
@666xGuitarplayerx666 Yes, but I almost tripled the power going from 600+ to 1600+. Now the newer T2s are rated even higher than the older ones, they are rated @ 1200rms, keep in mind though, I can't compare my old T1 to the newer T1s because they are different.
@ShawnAndrewMAC The subwoofer IS 600-800 RMS, I always thought rockford fosgate rated conservatively. It takes my Crown XLS 802 like a champ! Wow, i better be careful then, i better put it back on one channel, because its bridged and even MORE power runs to it.
@blazinloud What creates heat? Electricity. When too much power goes to the voice coil, the coil melts/fries from too much thermal heat due to too much electricity going through it. It can also be due to not good cooling in the subwoofer design, so the coil heats up. Its movement turns thermal energy into kinetic energy, but vents in a subwoofer are necessary, since it moves so much, its useful, and since so much power usually goes into subwoofers, its pretty needed. But mechanical hurts too ;-)
@masterwolf1212 obviously, people think subs are alot more fragile than they are. according to your theory a sub will blow instantaneously when you hit it with too much power, then explain how people burp and wall socket subs and have them come out fine. its a build up of heat unless the amount of power is just rediculous, like a 240 wall socket, but still then, many have survived. and if you cant hear you sub bottoming out you shouldnt have a stereo.
@blazinloud please, please indeed tell me where I said instantaneously. Please quote where I said that. I never said that. In SPL competitions people burp there subwoofers so they can push more power into them then they can handle for a long period of time, so they can acheive a higher decibel rating. They are able to overpower them BEFORE the voice coil hits the melting point (varies around 300 degrees farenheit). So I NEVER said that they blow instantly, unless a large amount of power....
@blazinloud And when subwoofers do pull through wall sockets and overpowering, its usually due to good cooling. When the subwoofer is pushed over its limits, it moves quite a bit. Therefore the voice coil is doing the role of kenetic energy, cooling itself off. Some subwoofers do not have good cooling, and thick copper wiring, so they do blow more quickly, but as I said in my other comment, I never said instantly. In fact, my RE subwoofer is being overpowered by about 400 watts, and its fine
@blazinloud Sorry I couldnt come up with a better reply at first, I figured as much because distortion is excess energy being put into the voice coil, which comes out as heat. Heat is HELL on voice coils. Mechanical damage because excessive force upon bottoming the voice coil will cause possible gapping, breaking or deforming of the coil former, which in turn will cause poor or no sound.
yeah i just guessed on how i set my gain. idk the volts my deck is but i will look it up. thanks. and yes this set up is very impressive. ppl mistake it for 2 15s or 4 12s in my truck
im assuming you wired it to 1 ohm right so that sub is getting 1500rms? danngggg nice vid. im getting 2 12" T1's and hoping to hook em up with a T1500 :]. peace.
@BlockBeatin1991 The gain will be set a certain way depending on what source unit you have, my source unit is only 2 volt so the gain is about half way. You will have to look up how to set the gain because there is a proper way to do it using a dmm , without using a dmm your pretty much guessing.
Go with 12's, they will fit the best. You will have to try facing the enclosure forward and back to find the best direction. In my Mazda, I got the best performance facing the sub and port forward.
@CaM2azfe This will depend on the vehicle they are going in. If you have roughly 5 cu.ft., go with 15" subwoofers, if you don't have enough space then go with 12's.
If money is tight, go with a pair T1's, make sure they are dual 4 ohms so you can wire them to one ohm. If you have the money, go with a pair of T2's, also dual 4 ohms, they will be underpowered a bit but will still outperform the T1's.
hi, i have 2 12in kicker L7's in a ported box, i went and bought a RF t1500, that amp is hands down 2 powerful for those subs,i have been lookin around and dont knoe which RF subs 2 buy actually, i dont noe if 2 12inch T1's, one t2 or two T2's, any opinions any1, i wanna noe which set up would b best for my t1500 after i sell my L7's
the 12" T2s would be a nice set up, its 4000watt/2000 RMS, so your amp should be fine, even tho you need about 2000 watt amo, but rockford underrate there amp powers,
@ShawnAndrewMAC i blow plainty of 12's L7's to the 06's ,the 08 L7's are a better sub by far.i have yet to blow one,in i mean i beat the shit out them with my zx1500.1 @2ohm.
Try doing the big 3, upgrading those wires made a difference for me. What size is the enclosure and what is it tuned to? Also, what ohm load is the T1 wired to, I would hope 4 ohms because that amp has lots of power.
its wired to 1 ohm it it feels underpowered.... also my box is only 1.54 cubic feet.... shouldn't my amp have smoked that sub by now? mabye my amp is fucked?
I know that amp needs lots of power, what size alt do you have? Also, is your enclosure ported and if so, what is it tuned to? If your enclosure is ported then I suggest going with a larger enclosure, around 2.25 cubic feet.
i have the factory alt, i drive a 01 chevy lumina, im thinkin it is puttin out around 14 volts, i might be 100 percent wrong tho... it is in a ported box, i don't know what it is tuned too... so if i get batterys will that help my voltage drop? becaue i hear sometimes batterys can hurt more then help because they pull more juice from the alt...
Id imagine off of the factory alt you would be between 12v-13v when the bass is hitting, test with a multimeter. Our amps are pretty close in specs, but my alt is much bigger, and I still see it drop to the low 12s. Adding more batts would not be the answer in your case, but upgrading to a better battery could help, or a new alternator, but first I would raise your ohm load to 4 ohms since it won't cost you. Not only will it be safer on your subwoofer, it will help keep your voltage up as well.
Nice movement, have you gotten it metered? i would guess high 130's low 140's. sounds very clean and i can tell the amp is very fast response for when the sub stops and goes on the bass pauses.
I have metered it but in a different enclosure, I hit 140db in a small 2 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 35hz. The only reason I had it in a smaller enclosure than recommended was because I had to make room for my sons stroller, it sounded great though. It's back in the proper enclosure now but I don't see myself metering it anytime soon.
I know the older gray amps were the larger power series that had built in fans, they were highly overrated. I know if you find a T10001 you will be getting almost 1400rms+ @ 1ohm. The difference between the older gray amps and the new black amps besides the color is the size and efficiency. The new series are just ridiculous by how they perform, highly recommended.
Nice Flex!! im thinkin about getin a T1500 also, are you usen the square gray one or the black amp? on the rockford site it doesent show a picture of the gray one. But I got 2 P3's with a Metrik 1900 but im pretty sure it only puts out 1100 watts, how much does your T1500 put out exactly? or does it push out what it says thanks great vid 5*****
I had a RF 1500.1 power series, the spec sheet stated at 1ohm 13.2 volt, it was producing 1762 watts rms. Thats what I only run Fosgate amps. All others blow
Nice setup man your neighbors must hate you. I'm looking to upgrade to that RF 1500.1bd amp but i cant figure out if it is 1500w rms or max, what was the specs on your birth sheet RMS and MAX? I need about 2400 max and about 1200+rms
This amp is amazing, it is rated 1635 rms @ 1 ohm, 1125 @ 2 ohms and 666 @ 4 ohms. I never go with max as some companies double the power in rms and others will tripple it. You will be surprised at how current friendly this amp is, it doesn't draw much from my electrical. This amp is a 10!
Really an amp that doesn't draw a hell of alot of current to power it wow damn i wish my did that it needs a capacitor to run and work without killing its self and its just a piece of shit VR3 amp and soon to get a 350 watt visonik amp for my boss chaos sub so it will pound harder
Yup, unfortunately due to space I had to go with a smaller enclosure, I had to invert the T2 so I can't really watch it move like that, I will upload a video of it soon, the magnet is magnificent.
I have it wired to 1 ohm, I hope you have good results with the pro box, I am not a fan of prefabbed enclosures. If it doesn't please you then just know that it isn't the gear, it's the enclosure. I suggest then you go with what Rockford recommends and either build your enclosure to spec, or have someone build one for you.
I am not familiar with the JL 13 1/2 but I do know it is more of an sq subwoofer and the T2 is more for SPL., plus the T2 will give you more cone area so it should be louder. Your amp is great, stable down to one ohm so if you get the dual 2 ohm T2 you can get the most out of your amp. You could be getting poor results from your setup because the JL is wired to 3 ohms, I'm just guessing because I know the JL came with 1.5 ohm coils.
If you have the power go with a T2, the T1 is a great subwoofer as well though. If you have the room, go with a 15", more cone area will get it sounding a bit louder.
If you have the power to run a T2, by all means. If you want more and lower bass, get the 15". Personally I've owned the 15" T1, sealed downfiring box in the back of my Tacoma extended cab, it was nice and low. All are good subs though, just slightly overpriced in my opinion.
I have somewhat of a basic knowledge of subs and what not. I just bought a P2 sub. Is that gunna sound good in a bandpass box? I know it isn't going to be as bumpin as this that T2. I got the P2 for $55. Did I get a good deal?
I mean the enclosure is designed to play 30hz the loudest and most efficiently. Music has different frequencies in it and since I listen to hip hop, which plays lower frequencies, I tuned it to 30hz.
Buying through an authorized dealer it is around $800, they have them on Ebay but they are usually refurbis that have been repaired with cheaper parts.
i know right! like people that play bass i love you and there is not a single inch of excursion. the hell with that, there is no other point to that song but full blown excursion!

The difference between the older gray amps and the new black amps besides the color is the size and efficiency. The new series are just ridiculous by how they perform, highly recommended.

thanks alot man you were a big help
mbalingit 2 years ago
Nice Flex!! im thinkin about getin a T1500 also, are you usen the square gray one or the black amp? on the rockford site it doesent show a picture of the gray one. But I got 2 P3's with a Metrik 1900 but im pretty sure it only puts out 1100 watts, how much does your T1500 put out exactly? or does it push out what it says thanks great vid 5*****
mbalingit 2 years ago
It's the black amp, very solid and easy on the electrical. It puts out 1635rms @ 1ohm, I love it!
ShawnAndrewMAC 2 years ago
rockford fosgate amps are probably among the best amps out there

hey nerdkilla,
I had a RF 1500.1 power series, the spec sheet stated at 1ohm 13.2 volt, it was producing 1762 watts rms. Thats what I only run Fosgate amps. All others blow
jdodd42002 2 years ago
i heard they get hot though? like really hot?
but i could be wrong since its what i heard and i dont have one.

Nice setup man your neighbors must hate you. I'm looking to upgrade to that RF 1500.1bd amp but i cant figure out if it is 1500w rms or max, what was the specs on your birth sheet RMS and MAX? I need about 2400 max and about 1200+rms
Nerdkilla76 2 years ago
This amp is amazing, it is rated 1635 rms @ 1 ohm, 1125 @ 2 ohms and 666 @ 4 ohms. I never go with max as some companies double the power in rms and others will tripple it. You will be surprised at how current friendly this amp is, it doesn't draw much from my electrical. This amp is a 10!
ShawnAndrewMAC 2 years ago
Really an amp that doesn't draw a hell of alot of current to power it wow damn i wish my did that it needs a capacitor to run and work without killing its self and its just a piece of shit VR3 amp and soon to get a 350 watt visonik amp for my boss chaos sub so it will pound harder

wtf. crazy.
alan13hurtado 2 years ago
Yup, unfortunately due to space I had to go with a smaller enclosure, I had to invert the T2 so I can't really watch it move like that, I will upload a video of it soon, the magnet is magnificent.
ShawnAndrewMAC 2 years ago
the song is show stopper
autostuniados 2 years ago
Thanks, I will have to try it again while the subwoofer is inverted, it sounded amazing as you can tell from the video.

How do you have it wired? I'm thinking of doing a similar setup except using a T215D4 in parallel so the amp will see 2 ohms inside of a
115SPB pro box. Actually I'm not thinking, I'm just getting it done monday.
tuffguy45678 2 years ago
I have it wired to 1 ohm, I hope you have good results with the pro box, I am not a fan of prefabbed enclosures. If it doesn't please you then just know that it isn't the gear, it's the enclosure. I suggest then you go with what Rockford recommends and either build your enclosure to spec, or have someone build one for you.

i have a jl audio 13 1/2 powered by p 10001bd would the 15 fostgate be louder is my amp shitty ?
jlaudio1312 2 years ago
I am not familiar with the JL 13 1/2 but I do know it is more of an sq subwoofer and the T2 is more for SPL., plus the T2 will give you more cone area so it should be louder. Your amp is great, stable down to one ohm so if you get the dual 2 ohm T2 you can get the most out of your amp. You could be getting poor results from your setup because the JL is wired to 3 ohms, I'm just guessing because I know the JL came with 1.5 ohm coils.

Hey I'm about to buy a RF Power sub but I'm not sure if I wanted to buy a T212 or T215 or T112 or T115? Any suggestions?
LiLBeZeRk 2 years ago
If you have the power go with a T2, the T1 is a great subwoofer as well though. If you have the room, go with a 15", more cone area will get it sounding a bit louder.
ShawnAndrewMAC 2 years ago
Thanks bro I appreciate it.
LiLBeZeRk 2 years ago
No problem!
ShawnAndrewMAC 2 years ago
If you have the power to run a T2, by all means. If you want more and lower bass, get the 15". Personally I've owned the 15" T1, sealed downfiring box in the back of my Tacoma extended cab, it was nice and low. All are good subs though, just slightly overpriced in my opinion.
phattacorider 2 years ago
either one is good i have 2 12 t1's and with only a T3002(RF) amp on them and they hit 129 db on term lab, but if you can afford it go with the T2's
bassmankraft 2 years ago
I have somewhat of a basic knowledge of subs and what not. I just bought a P2 sub. Is that gunna sound good in a bandpass box? I know it isn't going to be as bumpin as this that T2. I got the P2 for $55. Did I get a good deal?
bobbywilson09 2 years ago
go to the web site and look up the speks on the box's...son=me subs cant be put in a bandpass......or vented...
dustycavalier 2 years ago
you can buy these really cheap at this website, I bought my subs and amp from them for half the price.

wut is a subwoofer burp?
phillip302 3 years ago
A subwoofer "burp" is used in SPL competitions and it refers to playing a frequency at full volume, but only for a short period, like a burp.
ShawnAndrewMAC 3 years ago
What do you mean when you say the box is tuned to 30hz?
sounduser 3 years ago
I mean the enclosure is designed to play 30hz the loudest and most efficiently. Music has different frequencies in it and since I listen to hip hop, which plays lower frequencies, I tuned it to 30hz.
ShawnAndrewMAC 3 years ago
how do you tune a box to 30hz
mack70214 3 years ago
just change the size
BORATMAKEMOVIE 2 years ago
it depends on how large yor port is and the size of the box, bigger box = lower tuned

Buying through an authorized dealer it is around $800, they have them on Ebay but they are usually refurbis that have been repaired with cheaper parts.
