It's a 500 year old Jesuit conspiracy for papal world government. The papal agenda requires a consolidated society run by an absolute leadership. Societies full of independence are subverted by corruption so that they can be controlled by bribes, blackmail, and intrigue. If that doesn't work, they topple the society by fomenting unrest, then raze it by revolution, civil war, or invasion.
