too bad the software is garbage. i know robots who wont even put up with the lame touchpad enhancements... how can they screw up something as simple as scrolling???
linux has better features built in, like 2 finger scrolling, double finger tap as middle click, triple finger tap as right-cick, and being able to do the chiral motion in any portion of the trackpad you want. the only thing it doesn't come with is the pinch feature, which is installable with some work
Official driver doesn't support this feature on my laptop. But I've found modified driver and it support all this. You can find it something like this: Synaptics driver by Discrucio Anima
Thank you for this. I just bought an Acer Aspire One. It kept doing the ChiralMotion thing and scrolling when I didn't want to and vice versa. Nowhere in the user guide or on the Acer or Synaptics websites did they explain how to use it. You just did in a few seconds.
I find it really odd that I can't find it on their website to download for Windows because their technology came with Linux OS that was released in April earlier this year. I have circular scrolling as well as 2 finger scrolling built in. I can't seem to find the 'pinch' one for zooming.
No, some versions of Linux have it installed already. For Windows users, I heard that it depends on the company that manufactures your laptop. They decide which Synaptic driver your touchpad works with. I tried downloading the Envy 133's touchpad driver (which has pinch, circular scrolling, and others) on my laptop but it didn't work. So I think it is some kind of hardware lock.
you retard, synaptics makes the touchpads for macbooks.
ALL synaptics trackpads are capable of doing what macbook trackpads can do, apple just holds the "rights" to two-finger scrolling and multitouch. This update basically brings that to all pc users, just in a different way.
LOL! Synaptics makes the trackpad for Apple laptop, there also rumors that Synaptics are the one who provide the capacitive touch screens for the iphone,
