The cobra is a great manuver , if yuo know how to us it simply fly at fifty feet cobra and just when you start to flip back put it on full after burner it workes perfectly and you only lose about ten feet during the manuver...

You need to do more research. The cobra is useless in combat most times, but if done properly you should not lose any altitude.

However, combine the cobra with another manuver (like the hook manuver in this video) and you have a deadly manuver on your hands.

I don't think you can cuz I've tried it on all ACs and it doesn't happen. That wasn't Ace Combat footage. It was definitely the audio from AC Zero.

I use the cobra all the time and it works u just have to know when. If the plane ur dogfighting is an energy fighter like an f-15 or MIG-29 then it works only when ur in a dive and the guy behind u has way to much speed to pull the snapshot

The one where you flip over like that I don't think it's called a Cobra at that point because it's combine with another manuver.

The Cobra alone I've learned is suisidal (I used to think the Cobra was a great move too)

Whats so bad about being able to fire at the guy behind you? :) flip backwards and fire off a missile and then flip back.. i mean you might get shot down, but the other guy now has a missile on him.. which is very bad for him...

While it may look easy in this video, its really an insanely hard thing to accomplish. You need to use either the helmet-mounted sight with TrackIR or suck down the realism. Against a hardened combat fighter like the F-15, it wouldn't accomplish much anyway because it's nearly impossible to hit a turning agile target like that.

just use your helmet view point the target's direction fire the R-73 with weapon's lock free.

the R-73 will seek the target itself (maybe) haha

In replicating the Ace Combat, you've been fairly succesful, though the movements are a little less fluid than that of the real Ace Combat. And btw, there is a part where u should say "We [are] dancing in the sky." the [are] part was not there in the vid, minor, but disturbing for me.

But eh, still a great vid ^_^
