I don't think it's fair to make generalizations about what ALL or even what MOST men think. Long-term dating/marriage isn't for everyone, but that doesn't mean that many people don't benefit from it. My boyfriend and I have been best friends for years before we dated, so he's certainly not with me only for sex. Most people have one-night stands for sex only, but prefer a relationship for emotional reasons, because dating someone you don't have a connection with can become a huge pain.
