06 F150 5.4 Roush Off Road Exhaust

What designates an exhaust as off-road?? Like I know it's "illegal" but why?

@TheDeciderTOny Not sure why Roush labeled this exhaust as "off-road" to be honest. Nothing about it is illegal, least not in my neck of the woods. My best guess is because it's louder than their "legal" system. Some cities have more strict sound ordinances than others.

i dont like rear exit dual exhuast.. one reason, your tips never....never stay the same level there uneven right now and only get worse. I got the gibson side exhaust and its a nasty system come out before the rear wheel and sound like nothing youve heard from a stock f150

@Fordman150xlt I got it from Woodhouse Ford out of Omaha, Nebraska. They used to be the cheapest place to get them. $600 seems ballpark for these systems nowdays.  It is a complete bolt on system.

Thanks man! On the highway it's a silent rumble, very quiet. It's only upon acceleration between 1500-1900 RPM when it gets louder. Anything below or past that range, just gives you a nice growl.

Anything past 70 you can hear it but certainly not annoying. Congrats on your new truck!

I'm actually considering picking up a Roush exhaust for my recently-acquired 08 F150 SC 5.4... only the Legal one for three reasons. One is I drive highway daily, two is I tow, three is I transport the grandparents and they hate loud. Think that's a good option? Sounds effing sweet.

@Pandanobear Heard that man! I've already had the cops called on me once for making an exhaust video. They just told me to tone it down or take it elsewheres.

Just a side note, I no longer have this exhaust. I have Magnaflow Magnapack true duals now. Now my neighbors REALLY hate me lol!!

@tuffnugly454 That's shitty man. About the Cops I mean. The Roush one sounds a little rougher that what I want. I want a smooth sound, but I really like the Corsa's. I know it's not really the sound I'm looking for, but there is something I really love about the sound. I'll check out the Magnaflow's.

@fordfan855 Yea man, damn good exhaust. I personally loved it way better than the Roush. More even toned and cleaner sounding yet maintaining a very tolerable drone in the interior.
