The way this used to work is you held a ship that had a seat and pilot in it. Your ship could take 4 "hits" and on the 5th the pilot and seat would eject itself. It worked on the same principal of a NES lightgun, those red flashes you shot at but the gold ones would damage you.
I can't get over how well written this is. You may take or leave the voice acting, I personally love it, but the writing itself is excellent. So many games put either the player in charge/alone or following a total idiot that it's a fresh experince for me to realize I was ENJOYING the guy leading the missions.
@megamanrocks99 there were toys with light sensors and a light gun. If you were too closely aligned with the flashing yellow lights you got 'hit' and if that happenned too much your pilot would pop out.
omg thank you for the posting of this. i had a dream about this last night and brings back so many memories of my childhood. i had the action figure and jet. lost it during the move to my new house. im 30 years old and wow such great memories!
i use to have these toys and action figures as a kid im 32 yrs old now. it almost brought tears to my eyes when i seen this it took me as close to my childhood as i could get
Interestingly enough....... MY tape did not have the New'Ork section at all! The mission went from Washton straight to the Volcania attack run....I feel gypped!
i just got to say one more thing after watching this again after like 20 years... it unlocked something in my brain... this series made me want to be in the military... im in the army because of Captain Power
I'm sorry but this was sheer genious for the time. I mean the game is absolutely all animation like a cartoon but interactive. Why this show isn't bigger than Transformers is beyond me.
I have these tapes, but I can't transfer them to DVD, the stroboscopic flashing is running at 60frames/sec, the DVD Recorder records far less than that. SO the fun is gone there.
Scout blows. He only morphed in like 2 episodes and then he died. Tank and Captain were the best - obviously - and saurons gave me nightmares! Please don't digitize me!
I only had the first two videos two. I had always wanted the third one. This stuff is awesome. I remember having all the action figures and the XT7 and Phantom Striker. Loved the stuff!!

Hawk ALWAYS goes down... he's worse than a 5 dollar prostitute.

Ok do yourself a favor folks.
Look at the animation fluidness quality compared to todays anime.
This is all hand drawn, todays stuff all 3d b.s cgi implementation.
Old school at its best. all hand drawn baby. They put alot of work into this one, can tell.

@bryma It's just like the music. Something about Japanse aural asthetics that do it like no one else.
HotaruZoku 6 months ago
@HotaruZoku I agree. Kenji Kawai was THE premier anime music director of that era.

WTC at 8:38 . Considering this is supposed to take place more than 100 years into the future, it's strange now to see them here in this video.

So strange seeing all these Sauron clones compared to the single entity from the live action/CGI series.
