@macbookboy2 - Too bad it's not gonna happen. Nintendo will make it happen when their new console is released this holiday season 2012. Not only they're bringing hardcore gamers back, but also bringing new innovation to their new system to all consumers. Play games, improved gaming online structure (thanks to EA), surf the web, social networking, apps, etc.
It's funny and kinda disturbing how some of these "gamers" thinks that Nintendo only makes low-end systems. When, in fact, the Wii is their first low powered system. Also, how come no one ever mentions the PlayStations when the PS1 and PS2 were the weakest systems of their generations respectively?

This reminds me of the Blu-Ray argument, where idiots kept saying that Blu-Ray means better graphics, which is not true because it all has to do with the graphics cards, etc.; not the disc. The disc is just a container; nothing else. If Sony & MS releases their new systems, it wouldn't be like the 7th gen's scenario, where the Wii U will be like the Wii.

Developers also have to follow the specifications to be able to run their games on an specific systems. Even if they have the best graphics engine and have the biggest format, if it doesn't follow the system's specification, it still wouldn't work. Like I said before: disc space barely has anything to do with graphics.

@manlykblaze Not exactly sure what you mean. Are you talking about the amount of space each Wii U disk has? If so, 25GB single-layer, 50GB dual-layer. Same as a blu-ray disk.
@manlykblaze This is because the highest resolution for all TVs today is 1080p, which the Wii U can handle. There wouldn't be much difference in terms of graphics. This generation, it all have to do with better exclusive games, unique system features, and low system cost. If you really believe that Sony and MS' systems will be more powerful than the Wii U, expect them to be more expensive even without a tablet-like as a controller.

@manlykblaze You have to be kidding me... The Wii U has 768MB of DRAM, while the Xbox 360 only has 10MB of DRAM and the PS3 doesn't even have any. That alone can wipe-out both the PS3 and 360. Also, the PS4 won't be much more powerful than the PS3; Sony already stated that and "aim will be to make more people enter the world of video games and try to design titles for women." Go do some research, dude.

@manlykblaze There's a difference between targeting and trying to capture. Sony will be targeting the casual this time, while also trying to capture the hardcore gamers. Nintendo is targeting the hardcore this time, but at the same time will try to capture the casuals.

@PacMan1096 Why blame Nintendo at all, the Nintendo games were great, its the 3rd part games that weren't that great except for NMH1 and 2, Monster Hunter Tri, and Madworld (those are the only good 3rd party games I own at the moment)
unfortunately a console isn't sold via power. software is what will add "essence" to it's life. the very same concept on computers. without software, what you have is a deadweight. and softwares on consoles are the games for it is the reason why they are made. if nintendo does not address it's real issue which is giving the customer worthwhile games and adjusting to the need that players want something that they aren't giving and other console are, it will fall flat.
Also, game makers have developed better techniques for rendering better graphics without the console having to be a power beast with overheating, etc. For example, just look at some of the graphics a little smart phone can output. They're near as good as 360/ps3! The Unreal Engine can run on the iphone! Anyway people, get real, the Wii U is going to be amazing.
Anyone who says the Wii U is going to be the same, or less, or just a little more, power as 360/PS3 needs to open their eyes. Do you really think that a current brand new console will have tech in it that is 5-6 YEARS OLD?? I might be biased because I love the location used in the video, but this is a very awesome clip. It has a strange stylized realism to it. But the Wii U is 300 - 500% more powerful then the Ps3. This video was made in 3 short months with underclocked dev kits which were 10% of the wii U's power and the Ps360 still couldn't run it. Ok, so after getting a good idea of what a game with this style looks like currently on a console (skyrim), this blows it out of the water. I swear, parts of it looked like a pixar movie.
This looks all great, but it's just a cut-scene/movie, meaning everything was put into graphics. I want to see what actual game play from an actual game looks like....

This generation of consoles I learned to steer clear of Microsoft. They just gradually got greedier and greedier. For now on it's just Nintendo and PlayStation for me.

Average is what, about 5 years? ps1 - ps2 = 6 years. WIi has plenty of games w/ awesome gameplay, and it doesn't take that much time to find them, its actually pretty easy to find them really.
@THANATOS112220 true about the gameplay etc but graphics do matter somewhat. The only games i liked for the wii were resident evil 4 and zelda. Zelda was awesome, but graphics were shite. I really really hope that nintendo can do with its next console what it did with the n64 when people were blown away by its graphics and intuitiveness.

@veget4kakarot RLY? Well i know that already. The great technological advantages of the WiiU are the main reason why Miyamoto wants to develop the next Pikmin for WiiU. Nintendo's hardware development team always wanted to reproduce the graphics like they have been shot from a photocamera. If you look at all the generations, you will see, the Wii really was that one exception. To tell you a secret, the Gamecube already was technically capable to show games in HD resolution.
The thing is, this video is 720p max. The Wii U has 1080p graphics. So we haven't actually seen it's full power.
Even still, the graphics are detailed, well-implemented, and look as though you're looking at a real image. It doesn't just have HD graphics, it has well-used HD graphics.

The guy who is the head of sony said that they won't actually be improving much on the processing power of the PS4, and more on RAM, which means that they might allow more characters on screen but the graphics won't improve much at all, whereas the WiiU is improving by at least 50% on the PS3's power.

@Niih95 Nintendo has very talented persons that can pull out every potential of their platfirms. Nintendo has more workers than any other gaming company. While one team focuses on design and graphics another team cares about the gameplay.

As a PC gamer I have to say that these are some very colourful and good looking graphics, they are not the best but still quite amazing for Nintendo. I actually wish to play a Zelda game on 1080p wouldn't that be extraordinary people?

I might be biased because I love the location used in the video, but this is a very awesome clip. It has a strange stylized realism to it. @Discombolulatedone The 360 is 350% more poweful then the Wii. the Ps3 is 100% more powerful then the 360 but no one used the Ps3's full potential cause microsoft threatened to not release the games if the Ps3 version was better. But the Wii U is 300 - 500% more powerful then the Ps3. This video was made in 3 short months with underclocked dev kits which were 10% of the wii U's power and the Ps360 still couldn't run it. The Wii U tech is being tweaked eveyday so expect more from it

@AshXXMayftw Its not that much more powerful, and xbox 360 has been out for 7 years almost. Its ridiculous, we need another generation, they're getting long in the tooth now. Average is what, about 5 years? ps1 - ps2 = 6 years. Snes - n64 = about 6 years, ps2 - ps3 = 7 years..............and this is the best that nintendo can do? the wii was shit graphically, the last decent nintendo system was a decade ago. they have lost the plot.

@FascistBros You are wrong, this console is MUCH more powerful than current generation. Some guys even compared the 720's rumored GPU and guess what, Wii U's GPU is twice as powerful. This is a monster of a console, son. Wii is a great system, just that haters everywhere don't like it when Nintendo tries new things. Wii U is everything the Wii wasn't so there is no point in hating it simply because it's the successor to a console you don't like.

Too many people care way too much about graphics, and forget that the reason why they like a video game so much isn't b/c of graphics, but b/c the gameplay suit their taste. WIi has plenty of games w/ awesome gameplay, and it doesn't take that much time to find them, its actually pretty easy to find them really.

I really really hope that nintendo can do with its next console what it did with the n64 when people were blown away by its graphics and intuitiveness.

So it's very likely that the WiiU will be the PS3 of the next Generation.

@veget4kakarot RLY? Well i know that already. The great technological advantages of the WiiU are the main reason why Miyamoto wants to develop the next Pikmin for WiiU. Nintendo's hardware development team always wanted to reproduce the graphics like they have been shot from a photocamera. If you look at all the generations, you will see, the Wii really was that one exception. To tell you a secret, the Gamecube already was technically capable to show games in HD resolution.

The thing is, this video is 720p max. The Wii U has 1080p graphics. So we haven't actually seen it's full power.
Even still, the graphics are detailed, well-implemented, and look as though you're looking at a real image. It doesn't just have HD graphics, it has well-used HD graphics.

The guy who is the head of sony said that they won't actually be improving much on the processing power of the PS4, and more on RAM, which means that they might allow more characters on screen but the graphics won't improve much at all, whereas the WiiU is improving by at least 50% on the PS3's power.
