  • sugarcane does not grow in the rain forrests but in subtropical brazilean savannas ,where Brazil still have a huge surplus of unsed land Also the use of sweet sorghun could further reduce water and land use into making ETHANOL more efficiently They could well be suppliying Europe,USA,Japan and China with most of its car fuels this century! Colombia,Mexico ,Peru,Argentina,Paraguay,Boliv­ia and Venezuela could follow the boom reestablishing the sugarcane industry in Latin America for good!

  • cane grow everywhere in brazil,and grow fast,so nobody needs to worry about using cane to produce energy, brazil goes green,corn is food,cane may be but the whatever is left from used cane to produce ethanol can be used to feed cows.

  • ethanol sounds like a great future, especially direct ethanol fuel cells. but the deforestation is too scary.
