First, Viacom is not a subsidiary of the government and, second, there is a double standard between what is acceptable treatment for the poor, students, and the middle class and that which exists for the political and economic elite.

Scott has said publicly that people on welfare use drugs at a higher rate than the general population. The 2 percent test fail rate seen by DCF, however, does not bear that out.
8.7 percent of the population nationally over age 12 uses illicit drugs. The rate was 6.3 percent for those ages 26 and up.
8.13 percent of Floridians age 12 and up use illegal drugs.

Beyond the fact that this can be condsidered a violation of our beloved rights, this "feel good" measure does not curb drug use, does not streamline or make the welfare system any more effective at getting people off of welfare, and it is a financially bad idea. If he wants to run Florida like a business than he should look for real economic solutions. He can start by actually making moves that actually encourages and promotes job and growth instead of balking at every opportunity. Just sayin

1,600 refused to do a urine test because they had something to hide or really didn't need the money. Each welfare recipient gets about $30,000 worth of benefits every year including Medicaid, and food stamps - some even get free housing.

What's the big deal, it makes perfect sense to drug test welfare recipients. If they are doing drugs drugs they are wasting taxpayers money. You have to take a drug test to get a job/
