  • Even libs are ashamed to be called libs - for good reason. BTW......Libs donate less to charity than conservatives and are much less tolerant of opposing views. Souds to me like you're the real dummy.

  • Take a spelling lesson Nazi!!!

  • How about taking a lesson in not being a moron? Obviously my comment struck a chord. You can't handle the truth.

  • Name calling...They do that alot in kindergarten.

  • People don't get it because modern liberalism is a farcry from actual liberalism.

Liberal is just a name, and advertising slogan for the political party. Just because you call yourself a Liberal doesn't mean you fit the definition.

  • I call myself a liberal because i fit the definition of a liberal, what don't you get about that?

  • Because liberals are no more free from prejudice or bigotry than conservatives are. You're caught up in symantics.

One definition of conservative is cautiously moderate. But to be a Conservative doesn't mean you're cautiously moderate. Again, Liberal and Conservatives are just names of the factions. It's like pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life doesn't favor all life, pro-choice doesn't favor all choice.

  • i've met many people in my life who aren't too fond of gay people and minorities...they aren't liberal...i don't prejudge nor am i a bigot, that makes me more liberal...this isn't a matter of interpretation it's a matter of common sense.

  • You're saying, then, that only conservatives dislike gay people and minorities. Isn't that stereotyping and prejudgement?

  • am proud to be a liberal!!!

  • I like your critical analysis, it's always good to hear the thoughts of others on these things, and you've got a point the attributes you described a liberal do seem to all be rather benevolent traits... But here's my question- who wrote that dictionary? Most of academia identifies with being leftist, especially universities. I believe that words are subjective in meaning, and that a dictionary's "definition" is more akin to a snapshot in time of what a word means then at that point in time...

  • and meanings that it held. I think the negativity that stems from the term liberal cultivated in left extremism (ie. 9/11 protesters and hippies from the 60's, memories of Michael Moors fiery hatred for our president and etcetera.) When someone calls themselves the term "liberal" it invokes memories of left extremism and the hatred (and reverence) that is associated with such figures. Angry people don't mean liberal as in "generous" or "broad minded", admirable...

  • ...qualities of course, they refer to "extremist ideology" that certain left extremists notoriously portray, and becomes attatched to the term so that people hear liberal they don't think 'open minded, progressive', they think 'left extremist'. I think that's the origin of the hatred. What are your thoughts Kyle?

  • well thought out, good analysis, i appreciate your input.

  • shut up you liberal...but seriously, awesome vid, i agree
