  • Thanks man,...hope there would be link on status quo in good quality I can't find it :D

  • This is an amazing driving song, whenever I hear it I picture the days riding in my dad's Ram 2500 with the windows down =)

  • who was brought here by Micky Avalon

  • Lowery's cracked rusted voice is perfect for this song. Love his singing.

  • WOW very impressive from Down Under bloke

  • great cover.

  • great cover, but nothing beats the original

  • Just been listening to this cool version and on the tv Status Quo performing this in 1968!!!!!!!

  • brings back some really good memories. good ole days where cops would just let a backyard band do what they do. miss that so much.

  • not a bad cover =) loooooove the violin!!!

  • This is the riff that Blue Oyster Cult used for Godzilla

  • Cvb came before cracker

  • oh wow this is awful

  • Francis Rossi of STATUS QUO wrote this in 1967.

It became STATUS QUO's first UK hit single in 1968, and to date is their only top twenty hit in the USA.

  • Man for reals why is this kind of music not on the RADIO!!!!! dang you foo fighters and linkin park, and Weezer for taking all the air time!!!! :P

  • @StevenPaul1992

Well, back in the 1980's you could hear it on college radio. That's where I first heard this song.

  • don't touch your tits

  • Funny how this begat Cracker. Anyhow awesome tune, props to CVB for redoing this.

  • on our way to Midway

  • me and vie saw you in charlottesville

  • me and vie saw you in charlotte

  • I've got some good live videos of this band on my channel. Matchstick Men is actually a movie.

  • This is a fantastic cover, it shits all over the Type O Negative one (and I actually like that band).

  • Amazing. Love this.

  • Loved it when Status Quo did it...the violin is a welcome addition...still think the original is best...

  • an abomination

  • Just saw CVB and Cracker in NYC - what a 1-2 punch!

  • pretty good cover..the original is wonderful but this isnt bad

  • This is one of the best....and I emphasize BEST, remakes of any song that I have ever heard. CVB has a fabulous viloin solo, but Status Quo solo is purely Guitar....both equally haunting and mesmerizing.

  • @krtopolski

I thought the same exact thing, great.

  • @krtopolski Truth spoken.

  • God damn this version kicks ass.

  • that twee open LOL. then a scottish label crunch kicks in. yahayayayaya

  • I love that zepelinesque drumming. Great fucking band.

  • CVB fan 4life!

  • hell yes im drunk and i love it hope i remember it

  • Das ist how du makest ein cover

  • @JizzleMaFizzle i dont think ive ever heard a worse combination of german an english. or, if you mostly speak deutsch, das ist das wahrscheinlich schlechteste kombination von english und deutsch

  • @thomasshohio It's kind of, you know, meant to be bad german. It's a fun past-time.

  • @JizzleMaFizzle ooooohh... ahhahaha well you did a damn good job then

  • Comment removed

  • @thomasshohio Dast de same version of " Yourst de anushole" Leave her alone and enjoy the freakin song, man.

  • A remake, but a good one. Anyone remember this one?

  • @boris947 Oh, hell, yea! I remember it! Hell I'm 45 and still Jam with the "Camper'! Never too old for GREAT stuff! Always loved alternative rock best., Myself anyway! Have a good one, Boris! Shawn... It does bring on the flashbacks, doesn't it!

  • I love both versions of this song. CVB's is as innovative as the original.

  • I loved the Status Quo version as a young un, Love this more as an OBG1! CVB Rocks!!!!

  • I like this cover here Id say just as much as Ozzys.

This is one great band I'll tell ya. They been around for years too but only heard of em like 3 yrs ago or so.

  • awsome

  • groovy---in a modern kind of way---now dig it!!!

  • I'm old enough to remember around March, 1967 when Status Quo did the original... i was 8 yrs old and thought this was the best non- Beatles song ever, until "Green Tambourine" by The Lemon Pipers came out a few months later...ahhh good times.

  • I remember that as well rowdymax1. I even went out out to buy the Quo-disc (I'm a little older than you) and a few months later the Lemon Pipers as well. Good times indeed. Still a Quo fan.

  • Amazing song, amazing band. Fuckin' love it.

  • Camper Van and Cracker came through Knoxville a few years back. Good show, great time. Thanks CVB/Cracker!

  • I remember this on MTV. Still have it on cassette. Great song!

  • I though that voice sounded familiar. Just found out it's the guy from cracker.

  • David Lowery is a creative force, plain and simple. A force to be reckoned with!

  • Status Quo does a good job on this song, also.

  • ...well they wrote it...

  • @rockabillysilly They didnt write it.... a band called Status Quo did in the 60's.

  • @Jinxiford, right on, jinxiford, I am tired of stupid fucks like rockabillysilly talking shit like they know it all.

That punk is the original big-mouth ignorant douche-bag. Has a HUGE mouth, and a tiny brain and tiny pair of balls to go with his HUGE punk mouth.

    I prefer to party on!!!

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @frankc32 You and Jinxiford are both wrong about rockabillysilly. Did you even bother to read the comment to which he responded? Someone said that Status Quo did a good job on the song, and rockabillysilly replied with that answer. So I suggest you look for the real "stupid fucks" and "big-mouth ignorant douche-bag" in the mirror :) and try putting things into context first.

  • @sardaukarul, go fuck yourself, bitch, I am not here to explain myself to a punk like you.

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @frankc32 Does it hurt to have only half of your brain functional? What's worse, it seemes to be the retarded half.

  • @sardaukarul, I was out of line, dude, I apologize.

Sometimes I am guilty of pure, abject stupidity.

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @sardaukarul

Camper Van Beethoven is a happy band. If you want to fight, you should fight about an unhappy band. I suggest you guys take this bitching to a Joy Division song.

  • @rockabillysilly nope Status Quo wrote it in the late sixties. CVB really brought it out from obscurity though!

  • @rockabillysilly written by strawberry alarm clock, but their cover is awesome

  • @Malvogil written by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster of 'Status Quo' in 1967.

  • they did make it..

  • Yeah status quo did write it after all and its great but i do prefer this version. love the (fiddle/violin)...

  • David Lowery rocks!!

  • full-on; Camper VB, Monks Of Doom, Cracker... Lowery rocks!!!

  • Excellent work of art

  • good ole kabf little rock days...1980s r gone buddy

  • toddy-n-inane, rock-a-your-a-bye-bye: Thank God the 80's music is even more popular today than it was then! Not surprised though, seeing how most of the stuff today is complete and total garbage ...

  • That coming from someone who sings nursery rhymes? Today and the 80's even each other out as two decades full of shitty music.

  • What a great version of this song.

  • i remember when this came out and cant believe it has been 20 years ago

  • Good times! Good times! I miss them!

  • lol lots of drinking going on here. okay i will have to join in....oh yeah great version of this song..

  • Will drink to this one as well!

  • My favorite violin solo!

  • @rcknbkr403 Morgan, back in the day!

  • greeaat song - ice cold pbr in hand soon to be down my throat - and there it goes

  • Great song. Mmm drinking beer...

  • I Love this song. WoW I remember when this came out. thanks for the post. Drinking a beer to this 20 years later :)
