  • Actually here in Finland we use these Abloy/BODA locks as secondary, more robust "safety locks" next to common Sento/Protec/Classic/Exec Abloy. In new apartment buildings this practise has been replaced by secondary security lock with similar hook bolt as this but with Sento/Protec/Exec system.

  • Apparently a Russian criminal operating in Finland - the lid on the table says "living earthworms" in Finnish, but the caption on the document is in cyrillic letters

  • hyvä suomi!

  • Nice video dude, did you make that make up key? if so, how do u get the pins to stay? are they magnetic

  • Geez...some serious idiots out there...what he is doing is testing with a different pin on each cylinder and getting the combo from there for a key.

  • The point of this video is that there are not a million different combinations, he can narrow it down to thousands(?)

  • I really dont see a huge danger from TOOOL members breaking in anyone's home.

These locks look fun to pick. Soon as I master the lower-end makers, I'll move up to these.

  • do you play the music when you breaking into homes?

  • awesome job bro!!

  • Wow you can pick a lever lock. When you can pick Abloy DiskLock or ProTec then come back :)

  • "Ostajaa huijataan".....Abloy on paras lukko mitä löytyy ja jos sen tunnissa pystyy tiirikoimaa nii onks se huijaamista? Ja muut lukot saa auki 1-7 minutissa ellei nopeemmin.

  • So.... you didn't pick the lock, you made a key.

  • Just rig a shotgun at the other end of the door like I have, when lock is bumped door is opened, the nigger, spick, or white trash tweaker that enters is then dead. Yeah it may be prison time rigging a deadly trap, but I will rest assure no one will leave with my valuables alive.

  • @Frostbyte380,

    very nice... enjoy prison...

  • He didn't just pick it, he made a key for it... Awesome

  • Ohoh! Tutun lukon pystyy avaamaan laboratotorio-olosuhteissa tunnissa. Kätevää.....

  • Show me a lock that isn't pickable. Well the Abloy Protec may have the title but that can be self impressioned (see another vid on YT).

Actually I believe that shows that picking that lock requires so great knowledge and the right tools nto to mention oceans of time that virtually no burglar can/will do it. So they just break a window or force the door with a crowbar etc.. And that's exactly it's purpose - if doing non destructive entry you're 99% sure the insurance won't cover your loss.

  • Very nice bit of kit.

But how do you know what size of pin to put onti the blank ???

And why has he to use the tention tool with the key after he has set all the pins in the blank.

Do not think I an downing the guy, as he has a skill that I wish I had.

But with out the money to buy the right tools, and the money to buy the locks, then all that I am missing is the skill and tuition to open such a lock.

So before anyone slags this guy off, you try to open such a lock :o)

  • Okay, this isn't the BODA Guard lock it seems which is the Abloy SL 905. I would truly like to see him pick the BODA Guard. It's very possible with a tremendous amount of skill, enough time and the right tools, but has even more protection against decoding and picking.

  • I believe this is called the Abloy BODA Guard lock. Impressive skill I must say, though 99.999% of the world's population can't break into your house surreptitiously if this was installed on your front door. You need the specialized skill and tools to be able to decode it and you also need a make-up key. Still an extremely secure lock (unless sochilons is outside your door with his specialized tools for 7 minutes.) He should work for a goverment intelligence agency if he doesn't already.

  • People are smarter than locks.

  • you ppl are so stupid, this guy took this long and this much skill, and all you say is "yea, try doing it on a door, and quicker" i bet half of you cant even pick an m10 master lock, let alone this type, and not only did he pick a "virtualy pick proof lock" (direct quote from abloy website) but he also produced a blank in which he could cut a key from, meaning it may have taken him a half hour? but next time he wants in, he has a key in which can open it in a few seconds inconspicuously

  • Eläviä onkimatoja :)

  • Comment removed

  • Nice demo, and hats off to you beating the lock. But try it looking over your shoulder constantly in a dark fairly lit doorway while standing up. Abloy is by far one of the worlds best.

  • Neither is this very common lock in Finland oppose to what Chromodynamic claimed; Abloy locks are very common in Finland, but this isn't normal Abloy rotating disc tumbler lock but a lever operating lock installed into doors for extra safety. I would really like to see you picking an old Abloy Classic disc stumbler not to mind the newer Exec or Protec cylinders.

  • Well, I Wouldn't consider this Abloy lock any kind of cheat since it took you, what 20 minutes, to pick this considered the video was fast played and with a dedicated picking tool.

  • Now do it in pitch black and with the lock attached to a door. :) Oh well, good job anyway.

  • Is there something missing in translation here? What do you mean by cheated?

Pick it (or bust it with nitrogen) in 5 minutes or less you might have a point. Any security system depends more on surveillance than a tumbler. You would have to mount a plot on par with Die Hard to have that much free time.

  • How's the buyer cheated? Most locks used in central europe can be opened with a flat screwdriver, this one takes a huge amount of time and skill to open. I think in Finnish crime history only a handful of people have ever been proficient enough to pick that lock...

  • the point is he picked it and did so quietly (if he doesn't play techno while breaking in) and with minimal tools

he could do this while out for the evening or for trips

  • Wow, this is a really nice job!

  • Nice demonstration of just how secure these locks are. As Oakrockranch says, 25 minutes (approx) is a *very* long time for a single lock to keep a pro out.

A "Residential Security Container rating (RSC)" is rated to 5 minutes. A good safe is rated to 15 minutes, and a very good safe is rated to 30.

Watching this video, for an NDE entry, I'd put it almost on a par with the Chubb 110. You *will* need a dedicated kit and an hour, to be sure of getting in.

  • Hardly cheated. 5 minutes X 5x = 25 minutes for a obvious pro to pick a lock? It would be quicker to kick in the door. :-0

  • In Finland you can't just kick in like cops do in American movies, because the doors are made to open outwards and are more sturdy anyway.

  • does anhyone have msn!!! msg me. my msn live id is jane21dame i

  • Nicely done m8!

  • Well, that's not easy at all

  • RESPECT

  • outstanding demonstration of skill

  • I think you will find that the amount the bolt moves does not need to be known because he is actually feeling for the gap that the bolt needs to go through to unlock the lock. The only visual feedback he needs is to put those small pins in the dummy key the rest is by feel.

  • real dumb to show kids how to pick lock

  • he's not picking he's decoding, and where do you suppose kids are going to get a make up key like the one in the video? I could give a kid a new lockpicking set and he's not just gonna stick picks into a house lock and open the door right away. but I don't understand how the customer is cheated. These people need to learn better English. it's lock picking, not "pick lock" and if it takes him 20 minutes to decode that lock, then it did its job protecting the customer.

  • It is absolutely not illegal to show how to pick locks. There are, in fact, sell established public consortiums of lock collecting and picking hobbysts.

Knowledge is not illegal, and besides, think of all the lock smiths who need information like this.

  • The guy who made this video is probably a locksmith. The reason the know how to pick the locks is because of hobbyists.

Picking a lock is not illegal.

  • and how the hell do you think they learn? by reserching it. this would prove useful. so stfu.

  • what is name this song ?? xD

  • That is incorrect. As mentioned below The Abloy Protec is pick proof.

  • Nope! It's just no one has figured out how to pick it yet.

  • I want one!

  • Well, 35 minutes for an old lock not being made, that's meant as a secondary lock isn't too bad. What happens with the other regular style lock? Unless it's locking a safe, I'd say a crowbar or chainsaw would be an easier way to get in.

  • Its is not about getting in, but about opening the lock. Opening a door can do anyone (unless you're a complete moron :p) but opening a lock with a lockpik needs skill. so.

  • I like bombs, it's much easier!

  • nice job although im a bit skeptic about you having enough time to break in a house trying to pick lock that lock!!!

  • he can mada a master key out of it damm :).

  • ABLOY Protec is completly unpickable. Older versions of ABLOY can be picked but for all the trouble they cause being picked its just not worth it. Stop picking old technology thats not promoted anymore.

  • It's not about worth or old technology. Can your narrow mind understand that?

  • I agree its not about age or worth its a hobby and a lock of this calibre would likely only be found in high security areas such as government or banks and even if it is no longer produced would still be used in these areas. The abloy was and is still one of the most secure locks on the market and it is amazing to see somone with such dexteerity and skill to pick this. Well done sochilons a very interesting video for a lock picking hobbyist.

    Cheers

  • That lock is commonly used in Finland as extra security lock in normal house doors. Costs bit over 100 euros installed.

  • Actually in Finland this lock is very common.

  • Yeah this doesn't prove anything. If it takes this long on a front door you might as well break a fucking window or something.

  • You are a Pro!

  • dose anyone know how to remove or fix a jammed 85 camaro trunk lock ? Can it be picked ?

  • You should be able to get into the trunk by removing the backseat, then you can unlatch it from the inside.

  • Thats what I did and it worked ! Thank you any way.

  • get a different one. all the locks for gm are the same einstein

  • wow, another online no it all tough guy.

  • No. Its the only lock in the world that is certified unpickable by the United Nations.

    Bad luck for you ;-)

  • your not going to have that much time to break into a house with that lock so some advice stop wasting your time because its useless

  • where do you get those picks

  • cool

  • ABLOY lock is from Finland.

  • I don't really know wat you're doing, but you're music are hot.

  • People need to be taught "Thou shalt not steal".

  • any lock is pickable given the time, skill and equipment. Interesting demo, but shows how hard it is to pick and how unlikely that is for more applications. Can you imagine someone on a front porch doing that for that length of time and not having a problem? The video is 7.35 minutes and much of it is in 5x time.... that means around 1/2 an hour to pull this off.... beats the heck out of the 2 seconds a bumpable lock takes.

  • You can be distracted by a "freind" who kept you out late. Also he drilled the 900 series in 30 secs

  • this is a very expensive high end one.. the front door locks are much more easier to pick

  • Well I do not know if they sell crap under the name of Abloy nowadays, when Abloy is a part of Assa-Abloy, but in Finland this lock (Boda) is the cheaper alternative for a real Abloy.

  • it's pickable...

  • So how is the buyer cheated?
